[CDT] In Need of Volunteers for MC Server

Hi there fellow MC players! I am Ziggily. For those of you who do not know me, I was recently selected to join the Community Development Team. I noticed that our Other Games Section was lacking activity and I wanted to do something about it by reviving the Sythe MC server that was once hosted by a team of staff members. We have discussed this in the CDT forums and I am taking the initiative to get it started. I am not really familiar with this whole process and that is why I am branching out for help!

What we need:
Basic Plugins That Everyone Wants
Spawn Point Designation and Sprucing Up
Well... Everything ​

If you think you would like to assist us with this task, please send me a pm and tell me what you would like to assist with. We currently have a 4 man server, but if interest grows, I will upgrade it to satisfy the need. I will be working on a form of compensation for those that help out

Thanks for your time and I hope with your help, we can restore the Sythe Minecraft Server back online shortly.

I'm no expert on Minecraft, I'm just here for the discussion

I'm not sure how many mc players we have on sythe. Might not be a long lasting server. Are you CDT guys planning on doing anything steam related? I made a thread over in the FPS section about it, it'd be nice to have an active steam group up and running.

I really went off topic there, I just figured this'd be a good time to bring it up.

 

Discussion is always a great thing. We are currently discussing a stream setup but I am not 100% on a steam discussion atm. It could be something that we discuss in the future.

As far as the server goes, we are just gauging interest as of now before spending any real money on it. Just trying to drive community involvement and it seemed for a while that MC was a way to do that.

 

There is an official steam group.

Yeah It's good to branch out from all of these MMO's that hog Sythe like Runescape. I'd be willing to participate in the MC server itself, I just don't know a thing about scripting. I think Steam should have a discussion thread somewhere, it'd help organize events. It's not something I'd bring up in the suggestions area right now, due to inactivity and lack of subject. But I'm impressed that the CDT branched out from the main focus of Sythe.

I'm also impressed with Ziggily's involvement. I saw you funded a raffle. Good work

 

I was tempted to post a thread asking the community what it wanted but we would get a wide variety of results which would just be a mess.

We appreciate any involvement be it on the back end or just your participation on the server itself. Right now, we do need opinions on events to do, general layout and if pvp is wanted. Anything is appreciated.

As far as your comment about me, that is really only a taste of what is to come. I/we have some events coming in the future that I hope everyone enjoys I am trying my best since my posts here are strictly made from my phone. (Currently do not have a pc)

Wish I could give my advice on MC, but I've only played the game once. I generally waste my time with steam, so should anything with that come up I'll be your first volunteer. I even tried getting something together: http://www.sythe.org/first-person-shooters/1612167-steam-buddies.html

Can't wait to see what CDT has in store.
Also: I wouldn't be afraid to make a thread about what everyone wants. It might be a mess, but if you find a common want in the community you can assess it. If it turns out to be a mix of everything, you just go back to step one

If we could get this to work without the need to buy a minecraft server it would be epic.

 

It would be nice. So far, I have only spent 3.75 on it since my phone cannot support a server. I will keep looking into it though.

 

Try to have a minirank thing going on the server, can be an incentive for people to play.
