What's been going on?

Hey, I never thought I'd need to ask this but has been going on with RS for the year up until now? Due to some annoying account issues I decided to use it as a break from RS and Sythe. It's been since February but I really left around October ~ish so I've missed out on a lot and I wanted to ask others instead of having to dig through it all myself. Anything interesting or major really, even minor if you want.

Also is anyone else into this whole Divination skill? I need to look into it if I have the time but it's still always interesting to see a new skill pop up.

 

Well EoC came out, and then Runescape 2007 was released. So there are now 3 servers, Runescape 3 (Just an updated RS2 graphically and interface wise), 2007 Runescape (Old School), and Runescape Classic.

Many have problems with EoC, but I don't mind it. Runescape 3 overhaul was really neat, I love being able to zoom in and out and to make my own customized interfaces. If you want someone to play with, you can pm me your RSN. I'd like rebuilding my friends list.

Guthix dies :'( so, the Edicts he set have disappeared. In other words, there's now more heavier involvement of the gods. There are 8 (I believe) factions spread around runescape that you can align to. (Personally, I believe Armadyl and Seren are the 2 best)

 

Evolution of Combat came out, which is just a difference in combat.. An ability bar which allows fighting more fun and armour giving life bonuses and more health etc.. Along with EoC has come a lot of new weapons including off-hand weapons as you can now dual wield.

And now RS3, a graphics overhaul or whatever with a new interface that is really cool.

In general, I find that PvM has become a lot easier, especially by exploiting their weaknesses, but bossing in recent times has become a lot harder.

 

I've been out for awhile too. Neat to see that Jagex put more emphasis on the RPG elements of the game and expanded on the gods and history of RS. If I gave a shit about modern MMO's, I'd love playing it more often

OP: You may like 2007, it really adds nostalgia to the game. I've never been patient with RS, so I only stuck with 07 for a few weeks

 

I should have mentioned that I kind of lurked from October until February so I meant from then on, sorry. I was around for EoC and Rs2007's release.

I heard of Rs3 and think I saw the preview but never got to see it finalized so that should be interesting to at least check up on. I wonder when they'll finally have it playable on tablets since I think they were hoping to have that done as well this year.

This is so weird, lol, it feels like Rs2 just came out even though it was almost a decade ago.

 

Yeah RS has come a long way huh I think the idea of playing on tablets is going to be a weird (and glitchy) experience. Wouldn't mind trying it out though!

 

With tablets advancing how they have, I see it running just fine on them. It's a giggly type of thought considering how much more portable they are over laptops while still being reasonably bigger than phones. I see some happy scalers in the future.

I wonder how the controls will be worked out though.

 

Should just make a fresh account on 07 and do work. Eoc is shit.
