    Ban Appeal

Hey it's Jake Kastle here. Just came back from my trip to discover that I've been banned.

I think my ban reason is quite unfair. No one ever said that buying and then reselling names that had been sniped in the past was against the rules. Many name sellers have done it, and it's something that will most likely continue. Most of the non original acc names currently on the market have been sniped at one point or another. If everyone who bought and then sold a sniped name was banned, the name sales market would be greatly reduced.

I never thought it was against the rules. Reputable sythe members have done it, so i assumed that it was allowed. One of the most trusted members in the name sales market even said that he and a sythe mod were given permission. I don't understand why I would be banned for this if other people were allowed to do the same thing.

My ban reason isn't for selling stolen goods, but just to clarify:

I had never thought that sniped names were"stolen goods".

When someone wants to transfer a name, they knowingly release the name for anyone to take in the hopes that they're faster than everyone else.

If a name gets sniped, it's really unfortunate, but it's the risk people take when buying a name. I've personally had several names sniped from me. If many names on the market have been sniped at one point or another, how could the market survive if those names are never allowed to be bought and then sold again.

Viou's ban was completely different. Gold trading involves direct trading between two parties. Gold is never willingly "released" for anyone to take.

I really didn't think i was breaking any rules. I'm very sorry if I did, and will never do anything like this again.

I have reviewed the situation and I have concluded that as you were knowingly selling stolen goods, and thus your ban was entirely warranted. Personally I wouldn't be opposed to you being pardoned. If you have proof against other members of doing the same, please post a report in the Dispute Forum.

    Thanks for your patience.
