Using VPS.

I just have a few questions about using a VPS.

Just someone looking to run 2-3 accounts crafting natures.

What are the pros and cons of a VPS? I've been reading online and some people say it's really good, it'll run when your computer isn't even on, and it's quite reliable and it keeps your IP changed.

But the downside is its slow, you'll run into more problems then your own connection, and you don't know the prior history of the IP you're being given ( RS wise)

Just got 2 bots, Mod Bot Busted so I'm looking for alternate solutions to not getting my other accounts snagged.

I've been running 3 at night, and 3 during the day.

 

I'm interested in a VPS too.

 

PRO's:

• Don't have to leave PC on
• Gives each account a different IP
• Won't flag your home IP if banned

CON's:

• Usually won't have as good spec as home PC therefore slower
• Jagex sometimes realise when VPS' are being used as the IPs are VERY similar
• Takes longer to set accounts up on VPS'
• IPs can be flagged from past owners

 

Is the IP static once you get the VPS? Like I purchase it, and it has the same IP forever now? Or is it, everytime I start it up it gives me a fresh IP to work with?

/Anyone who uses frag, can you comment how this service works for you? If there have ever been issues with almost immediate bans, bots not running properly because the service is too slow, or (since tribot is already installed with FragsVPS), do you ever have other problems with setting up multiple accounts? Any feedback would be interested.

Mainly looking for something that I can use to bot with since I'll be a student at university, I'm looking for something that can run the bots and their stable script with almost no babysitting. If I have to constantly keep checking up on my VPS to see if they've lagged out, or their script isn't compatible, and more problems like this arise, I'm just trying to lay everyone on the table to make an educated decision.

 

i used their service for one month and i have to say it really isn't bad

bot-clients are pre-installed and running smooth, you don't have to do anything, just start them.
multiple accounts prefer a good hosting plan, i ordered the cheapest and had problems running 2 accounts at the same time, but for 1 account fragvps really is flawless

One last question, if I have an account and it gets banned. Do I need to purchase another VPS service to get another IP, or for every account there is, you get a different IP.

 

is it worth paying for the vps? i was going to use one and set up a bunch of bots but now it seems like everyone gets banned and it's financially not even worth botting... is this true?

 

I personally have had a few VPS's there for a while now. Honestly can't complain about them, they really aren't bad and it's very easy to just start botting on them. People were saying that FragVPS had all their IP's blacklisted or something, but that's really just bullshit lol. If your VPS gets flagged, the IP is purged and a new VPS setup for you with a new IP.

You can't really push many accounts on a VPS though, they do already advertise approx how many accounts you can run per type of VPS and that's about as many you can get without much lag. Anymore and it's pretty possible you'll start to have some lag problems. Usually you 'see' stuff lagging but that's just the vnc connection and not the VPS itself so, yeah.

 

Ok, I decided to get the bare bones minimum pack for FragVPS for 10 dollars. I'll update this thread, and give feedback. Hopefully this can help a lot of fellow botters, to avoid being caught by the automatic banning system. ( Not a lot you can do about Jmods)

 

yeah pls do it, jagex ban system is working better now with rs3, my 2,4k main got banned after the release of rs3, first a 24 hour temp ban, then wihtout a warning (and without any more botting), a perm ban

 

Careful guys, using FragsVPS. I had one account that had a 2 day temp banned for " Mod Bot Busting" Just get a Perm Ban for "Macro Goldfarming" the same exact day I got FragVPS. It might be a coincidence that it happened, but I'm not risking anymore accounts yet.

The rumors of dirty IP's might be true, since I got hit with a "Macro Goldfarming" Ban instead of a Mod Bot Busting one. When I start the bot in the morning, and I got home at night, I had to reset my password since it seems that someone had tried to access my account too many times.

My Appeal has been sent in, if my items are missing from my bot, then not only are the IP's dirty, but the servers aren't secure either and they're stealing login info/accounts.

Yeah, FRAGVPS is a no go. All of their IP's have been flagged and you immediately get slapped with a " macroing goldfarmer" ban. So you're being caught by Jagex's antibot system. They also say they do refunds, but it's almost near impossible to get one. Cheers
