runescape EOC vs 2007

ok i just came back to see from like over a year now. and have seen runescape is totally different.

I have questions. are their still "pures" in runescape EOC and has stakeing been brought back? and i noticed the level cap has raised also, what is it now? im just so lost.. I used to play runescape in 05 then i quit when they removed staking and pking ( cant rememeber what year that was) then i came back when they brought back pking. Then quit again. Now im back and its a whole different thing. Can anybody explain the differences between the 2

 

ok there maybe some pures in eoc but there useless pking is dead staking is pretty much dead no point in it, max level is now "200" its Def + Any combat skill from attack str mage range summoning +2
07 scape is the older version of the game since loads of people didnt like eoc they bought another runescape style game out called oldschool this is for pures pking,staking etc i enjoy it much more than eoc

 

I'll break this into parts to answer all of your questions

1) Pures are now pointless in EoC, as defence is vital in order to survive.

2) Staking is in EoC, and is still extremely popular

3) Most skills cap at level 99 still (Except dungeoneering, which caps at 120). Combat level now caps at 200, and is calculated by doing [Defence level + Highest combat skill level +2]

4)In regards to the differences between the 2, RS07 is exactly how RS used to be back in 2007. It has the old combat system and the old interface, and has an easy to reach end game. This version is mainly for PK'ing, as the PvM sucks. Active players on this version are gradually declining however.

EoC is the current version of RS (Now RS3). It has a completely new combat system with abilities, that actually takes much more skill to use effectively. It also has a completely customisable interface. As I said, defence is now completely vital, and the combat triangle actually works properly for the first time in the game's history.

The new combat system doesn't take skill to use, only more concentration, and the duel arena is no where near as popular as it used to be.

Just play 07 is you actually enjoy the game runescape was originally intended to be, before the Gower's left the game and they just started ripping off WoW and other mmo's for more money.
I would only suggest playing eoc if you want grind for like 4-5 99's just to be an average player, and have no interest in PvP or clans.

 

Combat triangle is properly balanced now - There is more to RS than just Pk'ing. The reason Pk'ing is dead on EoC is because kids don't know how to adapt. They throw their hands in the air and cry that it's too hard now.

I'm still making ridiculous money at the Duel Arena on EoC, it can't be that unpopular
