Need help losing 20-30 pounds.

    Hey, I'm 15 and recently have quit a sport (Soccer) due to the team being assyholes. I still ski, but have gained about 30 pounds during the spring and summer. Mostly in the stomach. I've lost my leg toned muscle and need to cut a few pounds there, too.

    I have a poor diet. I drink 2-3 cups of milk a day (Chocolate/plain). I'm going to stop the chocolate. The rest of the day is crap in terms of food. I know I am not capable of handling a strong diet but will try to keep junk food (Chips, etc.) to a minimum. I only like apples, so no fruits or vegetables besides that.... I can get most things needed to eat or whatever if you have any suggestions.

    In terms of working out I do nothing besides skiing now, last fall was my last soccer season. I have access to a treadmill, weights, elipticle, bike, and I can run. I also have a bench press or whatever but I'm not too interested in using it. That's all I have in my home gym and am not willing to go to a public gym.

    I need a plan and or some tips to loose 20-30 pounds, tone my legs and calfs, and hopefully be able to maintain a easy diet (No tracking calories, etc. I can't do that.). Any advice/plan for a newfag is welcome. I have no idea what I am doing so... yeah. Thanks :)

    Is this some hardcore workout dvd you see on TV?

    I'll look into getting the book if nothing is working.

    I'm trying to find what method would work best and with what machines when it comes to workouts.

    Currently weighing ~150 if it matters.

    I'll post you a proper answer to this in the morning when I'm a bit less tired bro.
    All i will say until then is try some different things; once you stop eating as many sugars your bodies tastes change a lot. When i ditched a lot of my sugary foods i found i liked lots of fruit and veg i wouldn't have previously touched.

    insanity is a extreme workout you will need commit to finish it through but it is well worth it , if you can stick with it

    Appreciating taking the time to come back. When you do, how long did it take for your body tastes to change? And what variety of fruits/veggies and how much? Thanks bro :).

    Not sure if I can commit but I may pirate it and try it out for a bit.

    Well man, I think it is great that you wanna lose weight. For any proper weight loss program two components are necessary: proper diet and exercise. If you wanna lose weight, eat more fiber. Check nutrition labels for fiber. For exercise just jog around the neighborhood or on your treadmill 3 days out of the week. No need for something like Insanity LOL.

    Probably just going to do something along these lines. I was questioning insanity lol... I'll probs do it 5 days a week though and mostly run etc.

    The trouble with sugar is that if you eat it, it makes you want more. This effect can actually last for as long as two weeks. Therefore post two weeks you should see your sugar cravings drop heavily. This is important because it is so often sugar that makes people fat.
    Once these cravings disappear and you start working out more you will find your body craving for a different sort of food. Food that provides good nutritional value. You won't actively think 'oh i fancy some carrots' but your cravings will only be satisfied by good food.
    If you are struggling to find good foods that you enjoy start basic. Add some strawberries or raspberries to your breakfast cereal. Progress to adding a bit of salad onto the side of your evening meal. Eat it. Slowly increase the amount of fruit and veg you give yourself each week. Each week you could try it prepared in different ways too. You'll quickly get used to it and probably surprise yourself with what you end up eating.
    Another top tip would be to read one of these 'trashy' mens magazines such as mens health. A lot of what they say is faddy but they sure know how to make healthy meals look insanely tasty. Give a couple of their recipes a go. You can also find these on their website.

    As for the other side of things (losing weight consists of your diet and exercise regime), I would recommend going down to your local gym. Take out a membership and ask for a programme to be made up for you. If all you want to do is drop a few pounds your going to be hitting the cardio machines hard and fast. However, if your going the gym you may want to build a bit of muscle at the same time to give yourself an overall better physique. In my opinion the number on the scales doesn't really matter; its how you look. Ripped guys are HEAVY. But, the person at the gym will take the time to go through all of your goals with you and work this out. Plus its a lot more effective than reading some meat heads cutting routine for cardio and trying to replicate it.

    tl;dr? Get rid of empty calories from your diet (google them), increase your energy output, decrease your energy input. Ensure you are running a caloric deficit.

    Exercise is the most important tool for fitness. If someone wants to loss 20 20 pounds then it is best to do exercise daily. Try to eat less quantity food for this purpose.

    try insanity its been pretty good for me, also take some medication called trubiotics it helps relieve all the bad bacteria in your system. Lost a good 5lb just from that.
