Should I call the police? Part 2

Okay so recently my house has been tagged with weird symbols on the outside of my fence first it was foot prints which I removed now it's numbers and someone tried to brake in through the back door. My family and I were gone for the weekend to a wedding so my dad stayed and house sat for us which is weird as fuck because I haven't spoken to him in 8 years but my sister and mother still keep in touch with him. Okay so he stayed here for the time being and watched after my dog but he's a drunk and oblivious so he doesn't know anything he was probably passed out for the majority of time we were gone.

So we get home and it's apparent to me that the handle on the door was behaving differently and wasn't opening right, I quickly noticed the marks around the handle and seen that it was indeed tampered with and broken. The outside door is also broken and no longer locks. For some odd reason I went to the fence where the stamps were originally and noticed a new stamp that's a number "969".

Called the police before they were no help really but we're defiantly calling them again tomorrow.

 

Just call the police, and never leave the house unguarded now.

 

it might be gang related i would recommend that you call the police and fill them in on everything , and i would also recommend getting some small cameras and putting them somewhere covering your the place they left the symbol and both your front and back door incase they decide to come back again

I would also try to get your family to move to a friends places or cousin so you know they are safe (females mostly) but you should as well because male rape is also common in gang life

 

Have you got anything valuable that's visible from windows? It's highly likely a gang has marked your house to get broken into and robbed. Based on the broken locks etc I'd say that's pretty much a guarantee..

Buy a little extra security if you can and yes call the police and let them know about everything.

This is weird... What kind of doors are these dude? I mean ffs.. Just call the police and let them know about all this bullshit, otherwise you're screwed.

 

Is this still happening daily? Maybe try and get an un-marked police car to watch your house for a night?

 

It's odd we left the garage unlocked and they stole nothing I mean we have all of our bikes and sports equipment and they didn't even go into the garage. They could have stole a lot of stuff on the deck but yet everything outside was left untouched. It's like they have no interest in stealing anything but a lot of interest in getting inside the home but to be honest there's nothing really inside worth lots of money we have a lot of money but we definitely live moderate and keep things simple.

All I can think of is they either want to hurt us or steal my dog or honestly I have no idea what their intentions are. Maybe they're that dumb and just forgot to check if the garage was locked or not and maybe they have no interest in stealing a bbq and a lawn mower I don't know.

 

I don't wanna alarm you, dude but please do consider having a gun near by yourself or even if you're in a good economic situation hire a security guard/car as someone mentioned above, just to prevent accidents or even fatalities in the worst scenerarios.

 

Don't give him the advice "consider keeping a gun near you", first of all you are invoking him to use violence and get himself killed. Also, I doubt he has a gun licence and has gone through the extremely difficult process of getting one, so the only way he could get one is illegally. Which could not only get himself in trouble but is a flat out horrible idea.

 

I'd protect my sisters and mother above my own life that's for sure so if it came down to taking a bullet or two or getting stabbed just to get them to safety I'd do it. I value my life and I cherish every day but I'd protect people the best way I could even if it were someone I didn't know but if there was something I could do to prevent injury to others regardless of the impact it had on me I wouldn't give it a second thought. I'd have zero regrets shooting someone who tried to harm my family and as for owning a gun I'm not saying I do or that I don't kind of like a don't ask, don't tell situation. I have no problem with my death, my life hasn't even started yet but if it were to come I'd welcome it with open arms and a glass of wine. I'm terrified of my own shadow but if it came down to it, I'd have to do what I got to do and that's protecting what's important to me above anything else. I'm not someone to pull a hero card out just for nothing either, I'd just go with the situation as it unfolds.

More stamps are being found on the outside of the fence which is odd because they weren't there last night.

 

The problem with that situation is, you're also putting your family at risk too, which is not really "protecting them".

 

Paint your fence and everytime they stamp, just paint over it with some of the left over paint.
On a more serious note: lets hope they give up soon -.-

 

Call the police and invest in some firearms. Not saying you will need to shoot someone and of course let's hope it doesn't come to that but you need to be able to defend yourself especially if it does turn out to be gang related.

 

There's a reason why it's called a gang, can you please refrain from the shitty advice "buy a firearm", you're only invoking violence which will cause problems.

To OP, where do you live dude? Are you in the US? And like others have suggested, get some cameras ASAP and put them around your house. Call the police and get a firearm.

 

Treated pine products sometimes come with stamps which look exactly the same, usually a serial number ect

 

i would recommend you to buy some surveillance cameras and put them around the places they are tagging and also get one for your front and back door , you can buy them for around $43-$300
