Does anyone else always get trolled in their promo series?

Whenever I'm playing ranked, I manage to get somewhat decent teammates while working my way up to my promo series... but as soon as I hit it, I swear to god Riot just trolls the shit out of me, and gives me the worst possible teammates I could ask for - trolls, unskilled players, toxic players, etc.

I try to be an influence and provide that DST when needed, but I just cannot win a promo series... How about you all?

 

It all really depends on you rank. I found that till I hit the top tier of silver, trolling would always influence the game.

Try and duo for your promo series, one of you taking jungle and another a solo-lane. This way you have a big influence on the game.

Best combo is a tanky jungle with a roaming mid and you should be ok but doesn't always work when you have a bot lane going 0/8 after 10 minutes

I'm with you on this one. I just somehow always have AFKs or like trolls when I'm in Promo Series.
Usually I would just ADC in Promo Series and try to carry games but I believe Dangelo's advice would also work with duoing with someone.

 

It'll be like this till your ELO is Silver+

 

I should probably start duo'ing in promo, even though my friends suck, it's still better than a troll.

I'm in Silver IV right now, and I've lost 5 promo series in a row, because of trolls. Win my first game, lose my next two games. I just can't get a break. :'(

 

Are they also Silver 4? Cause if you're being matched with bronze ELO, that's why. Use Lolnexus.com To search, scout out their ranks+Runes and such.

 

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of sites like that. I feel it takes away a bit from the game, even if it helps you out, still not as fun. I would assume I'm being matched up with players close to my division though, considering I mainly solo que.

 

I honestly haven't had many issues with trolls in low elo. Last May I did a boost Bronze V -> Silver V and people seemed pretty friendly/reasonable.

 

I guess it must just be my luck... Maybe if I try to just be more positive than normal, that might help team morale.

 

man, silver is the most toxic tier. I absolutely hate it. find a champion you like, get really good at them, and try to work on mechanics and objective control (especially knowing when to do what and where to go when.)

Hey, thanks sypherz! Little tips like this are usually what I need, I would say my downfall is objective control, when to push, etc. Silver is very toxic, I agree with you, lol.

 

Don't worry guys. I had about 7-8 promo series in Silver I and now I have 0 LP in the same division. Why? Because my team does not know how to jungle, how to lane, how to farm, how to counter and how to win late game after very good early/mid

 

Happens to me every other game really in gold 3. It's to the point now where I just play casually.

Don't play ADC at low ELOs unless you are duo queueing and you can trust your support. It's hard to snowball because ADCs are innately weak early game. The champions that tend to "carry" in low-level games are mid roaming assassins and junglers, since they have a global presence and can get fed on people outside of their lane.

From B5 - Silver IV, It took anywhere from 2-5 promo series for me to advance each division...talk about BAD LUCK! I had same issue...would go on hot streak, then run into trolls in promo...was a beating!

 

Trolling exists in all levels of the game. However, if you aren't able to carry yourself against a 5-man team it feels a lot more difficult to play.

Some people don't feel like they're being trolled at low elo because they simply can carry themselves regardless of how well or poorly their teammates are doing.

Just get more confident at the game or duo queue and you can avoid much of this.
