New Sticky - Xbox Live and MSP Section

It has come to my attention that people have been trying to sell GameBattle Accounts.

Upon looking in to these accounts, there are two things that cannot be changed.

• Date of birth (set on account creation)
• Security questions and PIN (once set)

I am requesting a sticky be made for users trading these accounts and/or specify whether security questions have already been set as a precaution.
(Such like users posting pictures of items they are selling in the RuneScape Section).

Somewhat. In the account settings, if security questions have not been set it will show the available option.

And if there are questions set there is no way it could be made to look like they weren't?

 

There is not really a way to look as such.

However, my point here is that users who are selling the above mentioned accounts are not including whether security questions have been set or not. This poses a security risk (like RuneScape), as having access to the security Q&A and the PIN that was set will almost guarantee an account to be recovered.

Either these accounts need to banned from selling on Sythe or a sticky made regarding the security risk. In the event someone is scammed, they would have been forewarned.

 

I only see one in the section you mentioned, otherwise they're sometimes found here: http://www.sythe.org/xbox-accounts/ where this exists: http://www.sythe.org/xbox-accounts/1492652-beware-recovery-scams.html, not sure if this is perhaps what you had in mind, GB accounts can just be added

 

The sticky references Xbox Accounts. These accounts can be linked to GameBattle/MLG accounts, but the email/username can be changed.

GB accounts could be added to the sticky, however, and the security risk regarding recovery questions / PIN.

I created this thread as I was asked to middleman a GameBattles account, but the buyer had no idea that security questions could not be changed once they were set, and opted to not purchase the account given the information.

I only said that because there is currently no sticky in the above mentioned section regarding the trading of accounts.
