Does anyone else feel like RS died?

Maybe it's because I've been away a while but since a year ago from when I actually played it seems as if it died.
I've been away for a while due to my job, I'm in Korea now so when I log on it's night time there in the states and it's not active, maybe that's why. But I am really wanting to play again. But don't really see anyone to play with.

 

Yeah I feel the same way since most of my friends that used to play runescape back in the day all left due to the changes there was.

 

Now there is RS3? Haven't tried it yet but I wonder if it'll bring in more players.

 

I think in general the Sythe population is a old school population and thus the negativity towards RS3. I think Runescape is actually growing but I have my doubts that us old school members will be part of that growth.

 

i think runescape as a whole is dieing.. the numbers seem to continue falling in my opinion this is on oldschool and the main game, oldschool would live if it had f2p, and more PVM content other than that they will both die off, unless jagex makes drastic changes.

 

I got back on it for a couple hours... Graphics are pretty good but what i dont like is how few players are on compared to back in the day lol

 

Yeah its beginning to die off now unless they bring out GWD then more players that stopped playing now will come back because they will be interested in GWD

it is slowly fading away, slowly but continous with a series of bad updates, lack of new interface that pleases the community.

With RS3 the player numbers are going to drop through the floor, it's taking people a long time to get used to it, and most wont want to. I'm going to give it a go, but hey-ho

 

Meh not really personally. I believe RS3 will bring in new players.

 

Just join an active clan and you won't notice a problem. I think RS3 will help bring in new players cause it brings Runescape a bit more up to par with modern MMOs.

Jagex knows it's going to lose some old school players with the updates they are doing, but they have to if they want to keep the game going. Runescape can't survive on pleasing old school players because they are going to lose a lot over time no matter what they do. They have to make it more appealing to players just starting or eventually it will die due to us old school players moving on for our own reasons.

RS has been around for 12 years now, and it still has hundreds of thousands of active players. It may be dying, but it's had a pretty long run, and it has evolved a LOT. Remember playing RSC? Log on now and look at the game.

Every MMORPG dies eventually, and RS will die as well. I'd give it another two or three years before the numbers drop significantly enough to call it dead.

Yup... it is indeed dying... I remember how it was in 2011 and 2010... back then it was really popular, w1 & 2 and sometimes 3 nearly full. and now... it's the excact opposite.

Every world has like so few people and w3 is the only f2p server left of the earliest ones and it's like dead! It used to be just like w1, full.

RS is dying & will die one day. RS3 is meh, I don't hate it, I don't really like it either.

and OSRS would live on if F2p was implemented.

Yep, alot of people have quit and moved on to things like LoL or WoW. RS3 is absolute shit and 07 is dead too
