New To Working Out Quick Question

ok i just recently started reallly working out so now im hitting the gym hard everyday but i had 2 really quick questions.

PROTEIN SHAKE should i mix it with water or milk? I brang milk to gym before but it usually gets pretty like sour and warm but im not sure which is better?

Also sometimes my arms get REALLY sore like to where i cant even hold them out on front of me without feeling some pain should i still go workout the next day? because i've been doing so.

please answer my two questions! :(

I would use water if I were you, Also if your arms hurt like that I recommend you just take it easy at the gym :)

Lololololol. You bring milk to the gym. You're hard for that. You can't hit the gym every day if you are just starting out. Even seasoned veterans such as me appreciate rest days, but for newfags like you, I suggest a rest day or maybe two. Go pick up some creatine from Wal-Mart and mix that with your milk if you want to get some results fast.

Milk is fine. Gives you more protein. Bring it in a thermos though lol so it stays somewhat cold at least.

If you are sore, don't workout what is sore. Your body needs rest to build muscle. If you are just starting it is normal to be so sore, after awhile when you get used to workout out you will not be as sore.

New To Working Out Quick Question

Milk is useful for slow release e.g before bed or maybe in the morning an hour or so before your workout, use water for straight after and eat asap to avoid your muscles using themselves for fuel. If you are in alot of pain/soreness and still want to workout, do something that doesn't involve those muscles at all and give those particular muscles 48 hours rest at least. As your body adjusts and your gains slow, you will start to feel less pain.

And finally make sure your pain isn't related to bad form which can cause permanent injuries, good job keeping fit though!!

Milk if you're bulking. Water if you're cutting.

Bro you should have a split routine. Try this:

    Day 1: chests/tris

    Day 2: back/bis

    Day 3: Legs

    Day 4: shoulders & lats

    Day 5: rest
    and repeat.

You can throw in cardio between days if you feel too sore, but the split routines helps you recover particular muscle groups before you work them out next. You shouldn't be doing the same muscle group the next day. Give them 2-3 days to recover + take 5g creatine with your shake pre and post workout. Hope this helps mate

P.S you don't need to have your shake straight after a workout. Best time your muscles are screaming for it is about 30-45 mins after a workout.

New To Working Out Quick Question

I recently hit the gym to bulk up.
Mix with MILK for protein shakes it taste like crap when taken with water, Once and never again.

Ok, 2 weeks since i started.
First day, I did upper body and the instructor was instructing me and after all the workouts my arms was paining like hell, when i went to bed my arms will not straight and only at 45 degree angle because if i did a full 180 degree straight turn it would pain.

Anyway i only go back to the gym when my arms, chest are pain free.
You build muscle when you sleep not when your at the gym.
This is what i think only go to the gym when your muscles is PAIN FREE.

    First question:
You should mix it with what you need to based on reaching your dietary goals for the day.

    Second:
You should probably be taking a rest day every other day. However, that extreme soreness goes away with time lifting. When I first started, I wouldn't be able to take a shirt off because I'd be so sore. I don't get that way anymore now.

Are you seriously telling a beginner to do a 4 day split?

New To Working Out Quick Question

I've been doing splits since I started.

OP; Get a personal trainer. They will answer any and all questions you have as well as showing you the best exercises for building muscle at your current stage. However, don't fool yourself. With or without shakes you won't see results for at least a month.

Side note; a couple of weeks in your probably not doing enough to make shakes worth while. I know it took me a while to realize how hard you had to push.

Pinch your nose and pour that water + protein powder in
    don't be a wuss
it gets in the blood faster and less fat(Depending on the milk you use)

full body workout is good for beginner's but that's just my opinion

Get Whey Protein, mix it in milk, drink it AFTER you're done with the gym within 30 minutes of finishing the gym. So, don't take the milk with you, go to the gym then head straight home and make the protein shake.

As for soreness, you works out 6 days of the 7 days.

    Monday, Wednesday, Friday = Upperbody
    Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday = Lowerbody
Sunday = Rest, do not go to the gym

If you work a certain part of a body more than 3 days a week, you won't gain muscle, you will end up burning muscle. If you're sore, you DO NOT skip that day designated for a specific portion of the body. You just do light work out, soreness is good, it means it's working!

You also need 1-1.5 grams of protein for each pound you weigh. So, if you weigh 150 pounds for example, you'd need 150 - 225 grams of protein

What most novice's fail to realize is as a beginner you don't need much to stimulate growth. As you become more advance you require a higher volume (exercises, sets and reps) to disrupt the equilibrium to cause the body to adapt and grow.

Since you're probably a complete newbie in the gym, learn the prime movers which are: squat, deadlift, military press, row, chin ups, bench press. Follow a reputable and STRUCTURED program. People get the word program and list of exercises with reps and sets confused. A program specifically tells you when to put up the weight, reset the weight and deload. A program such as Starting Strength - Mark Rippetoe is mostly recommended to beginners.

There is no excuse not to squat heavy 3 times a week, if you say you're back hurts stop complaining and get a foam roller and start rolling and stretching, especially your upper hamstrings.

PS: Don't do a fucking split routine.

Don't bring milk to gym, drink water so that your body could properly hydrate, the more the better. I personally drink around 1.5 litres during on workout session which is 1 hour and 30 minutes. After that, once I come home, I drink from 0.5 to 1 litre of milk. Surrounded by a lot of athletes and muscled men who don't drink protein shakes and decided to do the same for myself, hitting the gym for over a year and got quite ripped by using the protein from food which I also recommend to other people such as egg without yolk, chicken breast and so on.

Don't hit the gym every day as your body doesn't have enough time to relax, unless you're working on different muscle groups each day. For example, you go on Monday and work on your check and arms then on Tuesday you work on your legs and stomach. Otherwise, if you're doing all muscles groups each day then you will not progress that well because your body will not have enough time to relax.

Ok number 1: Don't bring milk to the gym lol, secondly have your protein shake with water instead of milk right after the gym because with water the shake will absorb into your body a lot quicker, milk consists of casein protein which is slow digesting, having a protein shake with milk would be better at night because since it is slow digesting the protein will go into your body slowly over your 8 hours of sleep, I also suggest you have it with water in the morning right after you get up because when you get up your body is in a catabolic state(feeding off your mucsles etc.) and having the shake with water will let the nutrients get to your body faster, pm me if u need more advice

Also it is good that your feeling sore, I suggest for the next day you avoid those muscles groups

Regarding your protein shake either way works, I use milk on occasion if I'm feeling fancy but normally I just use water.

Regarding working out when you're sore I wouldn't recommend it. Give your body some rest especially in the beginning when you'll have DOMS out the ass and your body isn't used to lifting weights, don't wanna take a trip to snap city yo.

My split is 3 days on 1 day off, rinse and repeat (Chest/Tris, Back/Bi's, Legs/Shoulders, Abs every other day, HIIT cardio every other rest day)

And please for the love of god take the time to learn proper form, I cringe every day I go to the gym seeing a buncha ego lifters doing quarter ROM squats and rounded back deadlifts
