A journal for my 1-week apple diet

I don't know if editing this first post is alright or not, but I decided to go on an apple diet for one whole week to see what kind of a weight change will I get. I'm mostly doing this to see how much weight I'll lose or how I'll feel and the side effects of it. Also, while keeping this diet, I also go to a gym and work out, and I'll also post what or how it effects you while you're on an apple diet. The side effects will also be recorded. Feel free to post and give your thoughts.

    Started on: 24/07/13
    Will end on: 30/07/13
Current weight and height: 149lbs and 157cm

Note: Consumption on the number of apples will vary, and liquids will mostly be lemon water with no sugar added ( since it's a good cleansing technique ).

    Day 1:
    - Had a glass of lemon water around 7:40am, left for school.
    - Drank plain water in school on numerous occasions.
    - Had lunch at home after returning back from school around 2:20pm, a glass of lemon water and an apple.
    - Had a glass of lemon water and another apple around 5:15pm before going to gym
    - Worked out from 5:40pm till 6:50pm.
    - Had a glass of lemon water around 9:30pm

    Effects:
    - Hunger for some times
    - More than usual pee
    - No slaggyness in work out so far
    - Does not feel tired
    - Everything is normal

    Day 2: ( new )
    - A glass of lemon water and an apple for breakfast around 7:40am
    - The experiment had to be stopped due to the side effects, ate cookies at precisely 1:25pm. Read the effects that I felt.

    Effects:
    - Immediately after having breakfast, I was still having slight hungry till about 9am.
    - I could explain how this "hunger" felt. At some point, I felt it was burning in my stomach, then at the next point, I felt it was cold in there. But both was rather uncomfortable, and unpleasant to experience.
    - There was a huge decrease in my activity level, I felt more weak and felt so slaggy, could not concentrate well in classes which furthermore messed up my emotions ( getting annoyed pretty easily -> hungry ).
    - I missed one entire class 'cause I decided to sleep on an empty stomach ( also because I was tired ).
    - During one point of time, I felt my heart rate has increased a bit, I could feel it beating, I do not have the explanations to this.
    - Also, I also noticed that I tend to burp out more on an empty stomach ( if I could count, it was around 7-8 small burps )
    - Finally, after controlling my hunger for so long, I felt like puking. I was a bit sick, my body hurts, so I decided to end it, at 1:25pm by eating cookies.

Note: I did not eat anything during recess, 'cause they don't sell apples.

Well, I do believe that this is a bit risky, since I have school and I work out as well, so I kinda am afraid that this might hamper my studies ( like make me feel tired of weak during school ).
But according to my BMI, I am overweight. My weight should be around 130lbs according to my height, but I'm 149lbs, so I'm looking to lose more weight ( lost around 60lbs before ).
But if I feel weak during work out, I'll stop working out for a bit.

    Yes! I'm a girl! :)
    157cm is actually 5'1 ( almost 5'2 ft but I don't think I'll grow anymore. )
And the weather where I live, it rains almost everyday for long, so the weather is alright. Not so cold, not so hot, so it's pleasant here.
Since this is the 1st day, I'm sure it's easy but on the 2nd or 3rd day, it'll be a bit hard, so I might consume more apples than today.

It's really unhealthy to eat only that and be working out and be busy every day. Eating a regular, balanced diet alongside working out is plenty. Diet is irrelevant, as long as you work out enough to counter it. Don't take extreme measures like this one, just my personal opinion.

I do know that it's really unhealthy, but I've seen people doing lemon diet for 2 weeks straight ( well of course they don't work out and don't have a busy schedule like mine ) but if things turns out bad, like if I get sick, then I'll cancel the diet and eat normally.
But just for now, let's see where it'll take me ^_^

    Thank you!

    Nah! I'll control myself ( hopefully ) ^_^

Why exactly apples? If you are going to be dieting strictly, you should at least go for a diet that is comprehensive, eating only apples will not give you a lot of nutrients (such as Iron, anemia sucks trust me).

This is unhealthy to the fullest. Where are you getting your other vitamins and minerals from?

I can't see how this would be healthy at all, but if you're willing to be the guinea pig I'm interested in reading how it affects her.

It will only make your body used to only eating small amounts, then if it does go bad and you stop, you eating normally will just put back on what you've lost.

Well, I actually wanted to eat watermelons but it's not available in my area yet, and the only fruits that I can buy is either apples or papayas. I'm not that much fond of papayas, so I chose apples.
I know it's completely unhealthy, as stated by other members, but I'm eager to see what's the result after a weak.

I'm afraid there will be a huge lack of other vitamins and minerals for one whole week.

You can call this as an experiment and see how it affects me.

I'm not really planning to eat A LOT immediately after a week. I'll start by little, like I'll keep 2-3 days for eating vegetables only, and then I'll increase my intake more and more.
Don't worry, I have it planned all

I found that if you follow this diet, you'll lose weight regardless of how much calories consumed per a day. It's what kind of foods you eat that gets you fat not the quantity.

    Foods to avoid

    • Red meats
    • Sugar in larger than 7-8grams per serving
    • Gluten (this includes any foods that use wheat as an ingredient)
    • Caffeine
    • Dairy

You will have withdrawal from all of the sugar, caffeine, and fat that you've been used to consuming.

You have guts. I would never EVER in my life be able to go without sugar. Sweets even effect the balance of power in my house: sweets first, parents next, then anything else.

Apples contain enormous amounts of fructose, they are very sweet.

A journal for my 1-week apple diet

I had to stop the diet on 1:25pm, of the 2nd day.

In morning, I had a lemon juice ( one glass ) and an apple and went to school. So far it was alright, and I already started to feel hungry around 9am when I was in school, 'cause I only had two apples the previous day. The hunger grew more and more and more, and I forgot to bring an apple to school to eat during recess. They don't sell apples in school so I just sat there, hungry. It grew to the point where my stomach started to hurt, and feel a "burning" and "cooling" feeling. Then around 11pm, I started to feel like puking, due to too much of hunger. Not only that, I started to feel really tired, and my body feels heavy. I started to feel weak and sleepy, and I actually slept one entire class 'cause I couldn't pay attention in the class. This school really got into the way! Then I just got furious, and said I wanted to eat at least something so that my stomach gets happy!

I ate cookies. Then after that? More pain. Like, my stomach was asking for more.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaannddddd then, about 10-15 farts. Lmao.
