    Sleep Disorders

    • Lucid dreams
    • False Awakenings (Type 2 (link) exclusively)
    • Sleep paralysis (sometimes with hallucinations)
It’s a normal thing for me to experience one or more of these nightly, and I have been since I was a kid. False awakenings and sleep paralysis don’t really scare me anymore but it can’t be a coincidence that I experience all three of these things frequently.

Those of you curious about the difference between Type-1 and Type-2:

A Type 1 is the kind most of you have: you dream about waking up and it's hardly any different from a regular dream besides that.

    This is a recent Type-2 I've had:
I dream about waking up in a very accurate depiction of my current bedroom.
My first thought is, “man, I want to go back to sleep; my boss doesn’t mind if I show up a bit late…"
My next thought is, “wait… something feels really wrong here. Can’t really place my finger on it…"
This tension stays and gradually grows more and more profound as I lie in bed.
Whatever. I just need to get some more sleep, that’s all…
So, I yank my other pillow and pull it over my head. As I’m doing so, I see the clear shadow of a person standing over my bed.
"OH. I’m having one of those again. Great…"
I don’t even bother looking up at this point. No need. This is no longer that scary for me. I know what it is, and I’ll wake up for real eventually.

I lucid dream quite often usually after dying in my initial dream I'll tealize I'm dreaming and be able to control the next dream I have. I also used to have sleep paralysis. Also I had a reoccurring night terror where I was awake but not awake if that makes sense. I was walking around while dreaming essentially my reoccurring dream I would "wake up" and go see my parents who would proceed to have like melting faces and everyone talked in an incomprehensible manor which was like slow to the point where you couldnt understand it just sounded like monotone noise. I would get so confused I often threw up. Happened like 2-3 times a week for 2-4 months my parents got me checked it stopped though.

Edit: this happened when I was like 6 or 7 not recently.

I have the type two awakening where I'll wake up in a place (like a couch) and lay there sometimes turn on a TV, But then i gradually realize that I didn't fall asleep on the couch and as i begin to realize it it feels like something is pulling me down into my bed. Then i wake up later but it feels like forever once the dream goes away and it feels like i'm skydiving or being pushed down into my mattress.
