I don't have any religious beliefs but I hate being called an atheist mostly because I feel like that term was made up by other religious people who needed a name for non believers and wanted to group them all into one category. Also for a word that expresses such emotion would mean in my opinion that deities do exist but that individual just doesn't believe that they do. I don't want any ties with religion, a deity or atheism so where would that put me? Does this make me stupid or a bigot? Am I wrong with any of this? If so just tell me. Does anyone else feel this way?

I'm not stomping on anyone else who has their own beliefs either so please don't be offended.

Unfortunately we as humans must label people. If we cant put a label on something our little monkey brains coudn't handle it and would explode.

There is a term for that. It's called apatheism. You're not wrong. The only 2 reasons religions exist are to:
    1) Control the crowd, make money, have power
    2) Satisfy the need of people to believe in something, mainly in something that represents justice. This leads back to reason one because believing in justice makes people more predictable and obedient.

I believe the term you are describing is "Agnostic".

Actually agnostic is the disbelief in god, etc but acknowledging that he could be real. I'm agnostic myself.

Agnostic in this context means "unknown" or "unknowable."

For example, one could be an agnostic theist. This would mean that they believe in a god, but also believe that knowing whether there is a god or not is unknown or unknowable.

I do trust in god but all people are free to like whatsoever. Not bothering me at all if all respects me, i will respect them. As simple as that.

I'm on the same level as Jack, I really want to believe in a god but I just can't.. If there really was a God I'd expect the world would be A LOT different. But I do hate it when people call me atheist, I just hate that word so much, it should only be left for morons who like to label themselves.

    Spot on.

Personally, I am an Atheist. I must admit, I do sometimes wonder why we're actually here and for what purpose, but I certainly don't believe that one of the 2000+ deities that people believe in are the reason. I believe these are created to keep people controlled, and for financial gain (like most things, then!)

Who knows, perhaps we were created by an alien race, that will wipe us out every 3000 years for sport ;)

It's the human nature, we label everything and everyone around us. That is normal.

I'm an atheist myself personally, i guess atheist is easier to say than non believe or somebody who doesnt believe, and it makes sense if you break the word up
A-Theist, anyway when i am labelled an atheist aslong as it's not in a malicious way then im fine with it
