I'll take a stab: every topic consists of pieces of news, in which the OP usually just posts a copypasted summary of a news clipping, and says "ok discuss". At which point, each thread garners about 10-20 posts consisting of "hang the fucker" or "he/she got what they deserved".

 

Make a discuss world news sticky and leave it at that, bam.

 

Half that shit belongs in other sections which are obvious..
Also agreed with Mike about making a sticky for around the globe news where people can place their opinions on things and discuss it, would make things so much cleaner.

 

If news makes up 90% of OT conversation, as apparent in this sample of topics, then I disagree with you. Condense 90% of discussion, even bad discussions, into a single thread, and what are you left with?

Te be quite frank, i stopped posting here a year ago, because its the same shit over and over again.

 

Another dead forum section... I agree, I don't see why people want to condense every forum section into subsections and stickies, there's nothing left once you do that.

 

If that's all that people can come up with to discuss, then so be it, even if it does become shitty discussion half the time.

I'm going to clamp down on these ridiculous help threads, about tiny life questions such as 'Should I do X?'. They don't belong in this section anyway.

 

It's been shit for years now. If anyone has suggestions to help, I'm game.

 

Should do something like a Weekly topic to discuss in a single thread, when the week is over, lock the thread, and start anew.

I tried to do daily news threads and they bombed quite badly. Weekly threads of random topics might work but it won't if the quality of posts simply isn't there. We just keep banning people and the good people just keep leaving.

I felt like infracting you for this but I was nice. Posts like these are why this forum sucks.

 

I appreciate the leniency. I was just confirming that a topic of the week type thing, if well ran and with a degree of consistency, would do well.
