    Hello all,
so lately, my weapon of choice has been a chaotic maul. This is for non-ability training (momentum). I recently got turmoil to go along with overloads, and can now afford a drygore longsword or rapier
Would a mainhand drygore+offhand chaotic work better than a Cmaul for auto-attack training (momentum training)?
What about when using abilities? (bossing)

You should have been using abilities with the chaotic maul. You would have been killing things a lot more efficiently. As per your question, yes. It'll be faster and more accurate. Using abilities will always give you higher accuracy and dps than momentum too, but using the maul for bosses + abilities will work just as fine as the swords so long as the weakness isn't stab/slash.

Depends entirely on the monster weakness. Use maul for crush weakness, otherwise, use your drygore/chaotics.

I guess the question was more concerned with monsters that don't have weaknesses. GWD bosses, or monsters I train on that are weak to magic (exiled kalphites is a big one for me)

I think I'm just going to give it a little trial and error.

Most weapons of the higher tiers have the same stats, just different attack styles - so a lot of the times it comes down to the weakness. For example, a CR and a CLS are going to do the same damage against a monster that isn't weak to either stab or slash.

A Chaotic Maul is going to have more DPS than a CR or CLS despite the fact that it's slower. Using abilities, it's still decently quick. However, with duel weapons, you have a higher critical hit chance I believe, since it's two weapons instead of one.

They really made it difficult to pick a weapon and stick with it, especially if you do a lot of bosses and such. I, for example, have duel DLS's (drygore) that I use for slayer and they work fine against most monsters. I don't do god wars or any bossing though, so I don't have to think about switching weapons to do extra damage against powerful monsters. So you see, it's all dependent on what you do most of the time in game I suppose.

I've always based the weapon I use on the monsters weaknesses. Mauls for crush, drygores for other melee, then ranged and mage are seperate.

Chaotic claws out DPS the Maul by a fair amount, largely due to the crit %.

It used to be a very good set-up to have MH Claw and EEE, since the nerf it's better to just use dual claws.
