Account been hacked back after purchase

hey guys

bought an acc out the section here. all went fine, had it a week, paid membership.

Now i cant log in, recovery email seems to have been changed as well.

I had jag enabled etc so no idea how he could have done this? I obviously need to get in to it to stop it charging me membership

Any ideas how to get it back or how it was achieved in the first place?

yeah, they just send a super quick email to [email protected] basically

"hi my account "login/display name" has been compromised, please lock it and remove hackers info so i can manually recover! thanks"

and depending on how you paid you can stop payments to jagex by PP or something

 

the payments are just debit card.

Ive done the same thing and emailed that address with the card number the accounts using and all the details I had and ive disputed what i paid for the account on paypal to atleast make it a pain for the seller to get his money.

so basically no one can buy an account because at any moment they can just email jagex and get it back?

 

It has been like this forever and it is very well known that 99% of account sales are scam and account will be recorvered back within some time.

You should read stickies and guides before purchasing anything.

And I would avoid trading people with few vouches in account selling ,new made sythe users , account offers which look to good to be true.

The best thing is to trade with account sellers ,that have enough feedback and vouches for selling account in past. Then you have low chance ,that account will be ever recorvered back.

And to be honest there is almost no chance to get your account back, at least you can get your money back. And do not forgot to cancel and claim back membership paid by debit card. It will at least leave scammer in negative credit.

 

ah right so how do i cancel the membership like that on the debit card?

Hes contested mypaypal contest by saying hes not responsible with what happens after the account is sold, even though its him who hacked it back,so not sure ho well that will go.

How do i sort this debit card thing out then without being able to get itno the account?

Hes selling 2 other things on sythe at the moment so hopefully others dont fall for it

If you have proof of trade (screens ,payment etc).
You can still report him and mods will look into it.

2)
To cancel membership like this, you have to use your bank (cc) managment online and cancel transaction you made or call them directly to bank and they will help you.

3)
And paypal money will be for sure yours, because paypal does not cover / protect virtual goods (only goods sold on ebay) ,so basiclly they will give them back to you.

1, i have emails of transactions for membership costs but thats all.
2, I cant do it online so may phone them if its really worth it

Ims ure you know what your talking about but im just concerned as if i were paypal it would look like he had a stronger case since he claims he didnt hack it back

 

Well if you have linked debit card with account ,it is more liekly that jagex will charge you for membership next month from same card you used to pay ,even if you do not have access to account. So you better call to your bank and explain them that you want to cancel transactions you made.

And for paypal thing. As I said paypal does not cover virtual goods ,so even if he claims that "he has not hacked account". It does not mean anything. Buyers will win intangible goods chargebacks 95% of the time and in some rare circumstances can file after 1 year. Sure you will have a chance to submit evidence, but the person doing the investigations probably has never even touched a MMO. You can even google for some more information if you want.
Virutal goods sold by companies like license keys or membership are something different than online gaming accounts.

 

ok ill see how it goes, anyway to make sure my band cancel that accounts membership and not my main? if they block all of jagex then thats going to be an issue.

Not sure ,if they block all, but you have to tell them at least when was the transaction made so they can find correct one.

 

First, all accounts are recoverable and you should trade with that knowledge in the back of your mind. Talk to the seller to see if they're trustworthy, look at vouches, etc.

Screenshot all parts of the transaction and post it in a scam report if the account is recovered.

About the credit card - you won't be able to recover an account just based on this, you'll need information proving you are the original owner. However, I believe Jagex instituted an option when at the buying p2p screen you can find all accounts linked to a credit card. This will allow you to remove your credit card from the account.

You can also e-mail Jagex to dispute the recovery but it's unlikely they will give the account back to you. At best you might get the account locked.

Jagex's response time is comically slow, so don't expect an instantaneous response.

I dont really care about the account its just what i paid for it on paypal and my membership that concerned me

 

Report it in the appropriate section on sythe. You won't get your cash back, but you could chargeback assuming that he really did scam you.

As for letting you stop the charges, go to the jagex website, and manage by card Then, cancel the membership on the account you bought.
