Hacked with Jag?

Hey guys, just wonder about the JAG. I got hacked and lost everything I had, but how did they get past the JAG without me getting an email or anything?

 

Are you the original owner of the account? I believe if not, the original owner of an account can always recover it.

 

Yes I am, I made the account, 2 days into the membership I got hacked. I transfered everything from my main to this account

 

Did you make your JAG questions easy to answer? If a person's able to answer them they can access your account from their IP assuming they know your password.

 

I suppose they could be guessed, but honestly how hard can you make an answer with questions like "your favorite food" for eample. Especially when it gives you one letter free.

 

Was your RS password the same as your email password? There's a possibility they had the confirmation email sent, set up JAG on their computer for an hour, got the stuff they wanted and then deleted the email permanently to leave zero trace. I don't think JAG offers a history of computers used to log in with either.

 

Can you not give completely random answers?

Like my recoverys are a set of questions but the answers aren't related to the question and all link together with something i'd remember, like a sentence.

 

If you only just set the JAG, you might have been RATed when you set the questions, and thats how he got the password and answers.

 

No matter if Jag is set or not the original owner can always recover the account. Doesn't matter how long it has been ether.

 

It's already been established that he did not buy the account.

 

i have had a few times where i could get on on different computers without jag on it. idk

 

I don't understand how they were able to get your email password as well though, unless it were a keylogger. I'd suggest cleaning your computer and restarting man, I'm sorry for your loss but hey, it's only a game

 

If someone gets access to your email they can do an account recovery via the email, which completely bypasses and I believe removes JAG protection.

 

How come people keep saying original owner can always recover? I have a main level 195 with 6 99s with all info from the creation date, but cant seem to recover the account, the email people i keep talking to claim they cant return the account to me..

 

They place an emphasis on the IP address used to create the account as well. If your IP is located in a geographically distant place from the one that created the account, they'll be less inclined to grant a recovery.

However, I find it highly suspect that with all the correct recovery information you can't recover the account. This includes original password, month/year of creation, ISP on creation, etc.

If the email you use is linked to an account that has a geographically distant IP from the account you are trying to recover, this might be the cause?

In any case, your situation seems to be an aberration.

 

WOW! I didn't think this was possible bro :S Sorry for your loss, but I do think the person who did this had access to your email, and deleted the email as well after he activated it
