Stopping smoking weed.

i realized that the only reason i started and continued smoking was because i was bored. So i took up boxing. maybe all you need is a hobby.

been clean 5 months.

 

Well when I have to go a few days off or don't want to smoke cus my throat hurts. I just sub it out and chew gum, I guess when I had braces for a year and couldn't have gum it was one of the few things I didn't get to have for a while and it helped me stop dipping and I can stop the smoking because I have soemthing in my mouth. No homo.

 

It was sarcasm. Don't watch anything that promotes the use of Marijuana either (Wiz Khalifa) because it's probably bullshit. If you can't make it as a rapper then don't smoke, because they're the only successful people that do it... almost. You don't see Alan Sugar celebrating '420' do you? He probably snarls and laughs at the stupidity of it, actually.

 

just quit cold turkey, not like its that hard, i mean its just weed for petes sake.

 

We can give you all the advice in the world.
You could spend countless hours looking for advice online. ( don't feel alone in that, lol )

But at the end of it all you simply need to have the willpower to stop.

Its now my 3rd day I haven't smoked, Have been suffering from some bad withdrawal tho, cant eat properly and feel quite agitated and having some bad dreams(haven't dreamed in years) felt a little hungry today so went to Franky and Bennys with my girlfriend took one bite and felt like i was going to throw up cant wait for these effects to go.

 

lmao dude, cmon. just try to find something to heavily occupy your mind instead of sitting on the computer. go for a bike ride, it'll keep your mind off the mary j

 

Just an update: Haven't smoked in 8 days now, joined the gym and done loads more things that i wouldn't normally do. withdrawal is better now but had the most disturbing dream Ive ever had in my life last night but apart from that I'm really glad with the decision Ive made to stop. thanks for the support guys and a massive thank you to my most amazing girlfriend who has helped me through everything i really couldn't thank her enough.. love you babe.

 

When i quit i had smoked daily for one and a half years. I never had trouble eating. Id get a little agitated and my anxiety would go up but the weirdest thing were the dreams. I still even after 3 years without smoking i still have odd and quite vivid dreams. Even before i smoked my dreams were not vivid or odd. After i started smoking i never dreamed or id forget then instantly. I find it quite interesting since mj is technically a hallucinogen. Usually hallucinogens can make your dreams quite vivid and odd.

 

I was never a mj addict so I can't really speak from experience but many of my friends do smoke and what I've gathered is that if you have a weed problem, you have too much spare time. Just do something about that. Pick up a job, hobby, whatever.

 

just get a hobby or have something to look forward to everyday

 

I've smoked, but never been addicted, so please excuse my ignorance.
Instead of smoking, maybe you should try to get addicted to something less harmful?
Instead of smoking every day, have something you find absolutely delicious like a slice of cake, a slice of pie, a chocolate bar.. I don't know.
It worked for my mum a few years back. ^_^

just stop and go do activities to fill up downtown.

Don't overthink it, quit and take up a hobby.

Too much free time will cause you to go back to smoking.

and again, don't over think it.

 

Haven't smoked in 11 days now, I have got myself a new hobby and that's going to the gym! im also applying to do an apprenticeship in bushiness studies or IT technology! thank you all for the advice and support. also withdrawal symptoms are a lot less but im now ill and have tonsillitis

 

I recently stopped too. ( this is my 4th day ) I find when I am busy all day I don't even think about smoking. Work out , go for a run, hang out with friends THAT DO NOT SMOKE. u can do it mate. its all worth it

 

Yeah that's exactly what i have been doing mate, but lost all my friends.. they stopped hanging around with me when i stopped smoking, really shows who your true friends are doesn't it? anyway congratulations to you on making it to day 4! hope you are coping okay!

maybe its the mindset
i knew if i did it again i would be in even more trouble so it was like yeah no not happening
