    Prefer a vague answer.
Do you think its hard? Did you ever want to do it? Any experience trying to do it?

Becoming a well paid gamer is incredibly hard. There are millions of people competing for a handful of spots. However, you can become successful by being an entertainer/commentator on twitch/youtube much more easily.

I saw a documentary on pro gaming what i got out of it is its just about has hard has hitting it big in hollywood. A lot of these "pro gamers" dont make shit for pay anyways. You could try the whole youtube scene. Imo that might be easier but still fucking had to be successful in.

Video game tester for Activision is $7.25 an hour. Manager at work use to be one. You get no benefits and half the time the games you play don't get past the development stages where it looks like James Bond 007 on the N64 (so he told me). Better off being funny and recording your games posting to youtube and getting paid from them for advertisements.

I couldn't imagine how bored I'd be doing this. Pro gaming just seems to crazy for me I used to play Halo 3 hard but now I play just for fun and realize theres no chance to make any money doing it unless you're on a big name team.

Yeah, they lost me after Halo 3. I used to think about it way back in the Halo 3 days, but those days are long gone. I'd have to agree with the youtube scene, do you make videos now? You can make a hobby/job out of making commentaries and being entertaining. It's worked out for some youtubers now, and I'm sure if you make some videos that entertain you can make a little cash.

Have you guys ever thought about the health issues?
Your eyes, hands, back, mental health, etc. And by professional gammer i mean MLG getting paid as much as someone would be with a stable career.

I would imagine that they would hardly make anything except if they won the events. The cost of traveling to the competitions and accommodation, could outweigh the prize money in the end.

    It´s like this,
If you are good, your life won´t be so good.
If you are really good, you will love your life and make lots of money :D

I was semi-pro for a while in cod4, and played against some great teams like fear and envyus. I came to the realization that while our team was very very good, we could never play enough to get to the very top (top 1-2 teams). You seriously just practice all day and run scrims etc etc, the game stops being fun at that point. I will tell you this, dont waste your time trying to make money in the MLG, it will almost 100% never happen.

I've seriously considered this, but honestly I intend on getting a computer related job then leaving this kind of thing to my free time. Hell, maybe I'll make a youtube channel someday.
