Is it 'wrong' for a man to hit a woman?

i think it wrong for a guy to hit a girl , even when if they pull out a knife you could take the knife without actually hitting them,

tl:dr guy hit girl = a coward , not really a man

There's no reason for anyone to hit anyone. Male or female, it doesn't matter.

Sure, it's right to fight back if you get hit, but in the first place, you shouldn't get hit. If a girl hits you, you try to restrain them, if you can't, you should hit back. It's simple as that.

 

Very wrong, a man should never hit a women under any circumstances.. women are (not being sexist here) the weaker sex compared to men.

 

It depends in the situation, but yes, if she deserves it, then it is okay imo.

 

Well since I'm a woman as well, if any guy hits on me physically ( lets just say, a guy slapped me ), I would immediately feel insulted and think that the man is a swine.
I also think that if a woman hits on a man, it's equally wrong too.
So stop physically abusing each other and make love :embar:

 

I believe that if you feel threatened or are being harrassed you can retaliate, if you would hit a man in the situation then you can hit a woman

 

Okay, this is the opinion of a woman.

I think any type of violence is wrong, man hitting a woman, woman hitting a man.
I believe one should only hit the other if it is for self defense. (Really big fights, not like fighting over where to eat with your snooty, picky girlfriend)
In the case of a small fight with a spouse I want to say it would be okay if the other gender started to hit you first, but I was always told to be the bigger person, so I'm not sure if I go along with that.​

 

The very question is already discrimanative. Who cares if it's a woman? Does that make her special or untouchable or something? Some people would say "women are weaker so its a disgraceful act to hit them". Well, if she knew she was weaker in the first place and didn't pick fights, that wouldn't be a dilemma now.

 

if a woman hits a man, the man can hit her back. of course a man should never hit a woman first.

Women want equal rights. But imo u shouldent hit no matter what. Just try to get the case under control.

 

I think it's wrong to hit anybody. There is no need for violence. I also believe in retaliation to an extent. If you're going to hit someone, expect to be hit harder.

Equal rights remember, you hit a man they can hit you back as hard as they want.

i dont approve violence since i hate it. i do karate and im almost positive that no1 at my school can beat me up but i never want to fight or whatever. but i seen women hit the shit out of eachother or guys since guys most of the times dont know what to do when they get hit. If my girlfriend got into a fight and she got punched i would protect her maybe not punch but get the girl on the floor or something.

 

I personally don't think it is appropriate to hit anyone for any reason. Especially when it comes to spousal abuse. I have seen both men and women getting beaten by their spouse and its absurd.

I agree. You should defend yourself or those that need it. But only in a manner that stops them from harming you or others.

 

It's wrong for a man to hit anyone, regardless of their gender. I hate how other men feel like just because they were disrespected they have the right to violently strike a female or another male. Unless your life is in danger you have no right to hit anyone, most situations where men feel "threatened" can be avoided by using common sense and if you're in a bad relationship then leave and break it off before it becomes violent. Having that mentality that she hit me first so I hit her back is so childish! If your life revolves around playground rules I feel really sorry for you.

 

The act and even the thought of hitting another person is wrong.. In self defense? Sure.. But for no given reason? No, it's completely wrong.
