What would you do if you landed a decent paying job?

What would you do if you landed a decent paying job anywhere from 60k to 150k a year?


For me, I would live in a studio apartment or somewhere that is really cheap and close for the next 10-20 years and take bus transportation to work everyday. Limit the cost of foods and never go out for special occasions and refrain myself from buying nice clothes, shoes, cars, anything. I worry about that dental, medical, eye, life insurance over that. Then after 10-20 years of $$ saved up, I'll move out and live in a nice home with a great neighborhood.

Overall, I would try to be frugal as possible until a desired amount of cash is saved.

 

Then you just wasted the prime time of your life living like a hermit. Spend the money on things you'll never get to do again and enjoy yourself is my motto. Just save enough to live decent when I'm older.

Think about it, you're not getting that high pay job until you hit 30 anyways. You save and live life incomplete for about 20 years: bam you're 50.

 

Get a nice apartment in the town of my choice. Start a retirement fund and start saving for a house while also putting money aside to travel whenever possible. I'd also make sure to do everything possible to ensure I keep that job xD

 

You can still do awesome things when you're 30+..
I would do exactly this but a little less drastic, I would limit the costs of going out, I most certainly would have a car because I hate public transport.. I hate places like hospitals/doctors etc as well. I hope to build my own home one day! Which all my money would be going towards that while living with my father *he's extremely well off* and we've discussed this while I'm in uni and working.

Save up for to purchase a house and vacation every few years when work allows me vacation time. Pretty much enjoy the little things in life but moderately so I don't go broke.

 

Hit the bars every day. Buy a new car.

 

Well I make around 8k a year now working in a shitty office/factory while I am in uni and I live perfectly fine. When I finish uni the average annual salary is £60k+ anyway so I'll be living A LOT better than I am now. I just plan on living how I am now, just with better things. I plan on investing in property once I have enough so I still have a steady income when I retire.

 

Keep living where I'm living and save as much $ as possible.

Op: You can save your money up to live a good retirement, but seeing as how you're still in Uni you might want to think about things that happen after you graduate. I'm talking about traveling the world, starting a family, and having fun in general. Just something to think about

 

Currently I work 2 jobs ontop of doing landscaping on the side; and I roll in about 50-55k a year. I do live in a studio apartment. I rarely have the time to go out because I'm working all the time. But I bought me a 2013 corolla sport though. Hehe! I'm currently looking at making a down payment on a house right now. If I were to make more - I'd just bank it.
