Claim and Cancel Paypal

I've been looking around buying section and allot of trusted users are happy to sell to new users via paypal on the condition they use the 'claim and cancel' method.

Anyone who knows what this is want to explain ?

 

1) pay someone
2) open a claim
3) cancel claim

you cant open another claim so it is secure, apparently :/

 

you can only open 1 claim per transaction, so opening and closing it means its gurantee to stop the person from claiming again

 

You don't want to do this, not only can they call paypal and have it-reopened manually once they explain the situation but it can set off automatic account limitations if you do it too often which are a pain to get resolved.

 

Are people really still doing that? It's an ancient method that doesn't work.

The best way to secure a Paypal payment is to ask for personal information. Ask if the person is willing to give you a call on your cell phone.

 

I just use PA years of sythe experience i've seen charge backs of around $2 lol but this method was suggested to me so thought i would ask first

We really need to find out a method so people can't charge back.

I was lucky enough that i didn't got any charge back during the days i sell rsgp and do questing services.even with newcomer
maybe it is related to tha fact that i only receive a small amount of payment per time which most of the scammer won't do.
In my own experience ,i tried to file a charge back when my VPS just can't run a bot client at all.i call the paypal customer service and she told me that virtual goods is not covered.Eventally,my charge back was denied.
the method of charge back should be the guy who scam you,they made a large payment(eg.100USD),and call their credit card bank that the payment isn't done by themselves.

 

Claim/cancel is a breach of Paypal's terms. Using this method will not protect you from chargebacks, and can also lead to you being banned from their service. Don't use claim/cancel.

i dont quite understand what claim and cancel is tbh but i dont think it will stop chargebacks

 

PA is the way to go
