    Microsoft Windows Question

The one linked is a single license only and the 3 packs are usually only $10 ish cheaper than buying 3 licenses.

To the op, yes you can use an oem edition (you wouldn't be able to buy it otherwise) the oem edition just comes with a few restrictions like you may only ever use it on one pc ever, if you ever get a new computer or even upgrade certain components you are required (legally) to purchase a new copy of windows. You also receive zero support from Microsoft for your copy of windows because in buying the oem copy you are required to support windows and the computer you install it on.

Every oem key is licensed for ONE pc (motherboard) activation ever. Once you activate an oem key that key is forever tied to that motherboard. You may be able to activate other machines with the key (would most likely need to activate over the phone) but it is illegal.

Negative, the version i bought stated it can be used on up to 3 machines. i've used this same key so far on 3 different mobos and they are all activated, and acknowledge by microsoft.

will have to dig up my reciept to find the product description i had.
