Scammed by Roary!

Briefly explain the trade:
Selling him 60m + 26m for total of 86m
86m for 2.7/m 232.20

How they scammed:
He added me on separate Skype, he pmed me to verify its him, he said his skype wasn't hacked and it was legit. I sold him 60m and was waiting for payment, i then added 26m without receiving payment. Then he told me he was an imposter and deleted me. Then on his actual skype which he had admitted that his skype was legit, he said 'we never made a trade'. He claimed to have been talking on livechat to me which is crap because he has me on skype why wouldn't he pm me on skype! or least ask for a pm!

Reason why i think he wasn't an imposter, is his shifty attitude he was being vague whilst posting on my thread"talking to you now" (no specification), and sent me a pm of just numbers, like come on its a mod! If it really wasn't him then he must take responsibility for this as he was being careless with his account by sending vague verifications, just like i had to take responsibility for being careless and clicking on a phishing site and having to repay all those the hacker had scammed.

Reason why roary is responsible for payment even if he scammed me or not:
We have a rule that if someone gets phished, and the hacker scams, it is the duty of that who got phished to repay those who had been scammed. Now the reason thats the case because we have to pay the actions for our carelessness.

Roary here sent me random digits because a livechat told him to without asking me on skype (Which he already has added as he has mmed trades for me) he also wrote 'currently talking' on my thread, which is so vague? I asked him to post on my thread and apparently so did the live chat, why would he not fill it out in the correct format which was asked? He is a mod! his carelessness resulted in myself being scammed. I think just like a person who is phished, its not there fault that this happened but its there carelessness that requires them to take full responsibility

Can i just note that he hasn't provided any evidence claiming he was talking to a live chat (No screenshots nothing) So the fact that he doesn't have a TWC at the very minimum is crazy =/

 

Your a mod! You wouldn't send me random digits because a live chat told you to! If you view the conversation with the claimed imposter you only sent 2nd pm during the 2nd trade which i asked for another pm!

 

Yeah, I might have been wrong in sending a PM I didn't think about, but I still didn't say anywhere that the Skype you were talking to was me.

Skype doesn't matter verifying pms does, you were being careless and as a result i'm over $200 out of pocket. Just like i was being careless and clicked on a phished link and had to take responsibility for what the hacker scammed you have to take responsibility for being careless! Your a mod....

 

I didn't say that you were talking to me on that Skype, so if you read the stickies.. this isn't valid. I didn't scam your money.

 

You are a mod you know how to send pms, even if someone on livechat asked you for a pm to verify you are talking to them you would say 'confirmed talking to you on live chat' not 'random digits that are asked'

 

I sent a stupid PM, I didn't confirm Skype name. There's a difference.

 

You sent me a pm of random digits that someone on livechat asked you to send me, It was not your intention for me to become scammed, but neither was it my intention for Tenicor and Steven525 but because i was careless I had to pay them back for what they were scammed. Just like you have to now. Your a mod! For the millionth time, there isn't anything i trust more on this site then moderators. People given privileged access to this website, how can you be so careless with your account?

 

The IP for Jmgoldsales matches another user, is located in Melbourne, AUS and doesn't belong to Roary.

also this should set new precedent i think for the way we verify pms. If my Sythe was hacked it'd be different, I didn't confirm the Skype name, which is required for scam reports..

 

You didn't confirm you were talking on live chat specifically either you were vague even when you posted on my thread? You sent me random digits -.- (which the impostor earlier accepted) CARELESSNESS is what i'm accusing you off roary, nothing more now that its confirmed that it wasn't you.

 

Why is getting hacked different? How does one get hacked? By being careless, if you are being careless and don't notice a V instead of a Y, why should you suffer repaying members who were scammed when you didn't intend on being hacked in any way shape or form? The reason you guys have that rule is the same reason why you should accept responsibility for your actions now. I know you are all at the lounge atm discussing this, but please put it to a non bias vote, i respect and admire roary just as much as you guys do, and i have come to seem him as a good friend from here, but this shouldn't be ignored.

YOU ARE A MOD! You don't need any vouches to be deemed trusted on this site because YOU ARE A MOD! So why would you be careless with your account and not suffer any consequence??

I don't know how many times i can say this, if you are careless with your account in a way that someone gets scammed, it should be on you to disburse said person, hence why people have to reimburse people who get scammed whilst there sythe is hacked.

 

Yes Roary was careless for sending a pm with just digits, but nowhere does he state that is his Skype id. Imposters are clever and can trick the majority of people.

The precedence has always been that these reports are shrugged off as a mishap. If Roary were to have to refund you it would be unfair to users who were in similar situations and did not get refunded. It should be under basic trading practices that you actually confirm the Skype id is owned by the Sythe user.

What baffles me is if you had Roary on Skype, why didn't you just ask him if the other Skype id (imposter) you were talking to was him?

 

There can't be a double standard to the reason you guys have this rule purely due to the fact that a Mod was involved and more importantly it was Roary. Like i said you have to not be biased. Otherwise you can remove the rule which makes people have to pay back victims of hacked accounts in order to become unbanned because they weren't the ones that scammed why should they take responsibility for it? You have to see my point here roary...

 

There isn't a double standard, read the stickies. We dismiss reports every day that have the same level of proof that you do here.
