Will Jagex ever sell gold

As title asks.. do you guys ever think they will start selling gold to their players directly and not like the fortune stufff...

 

No, they'd make themselves even more of a laughing stock. There economy is already ridiculously inflated why would they worsen that by selling gold. They're more likely to create updates to reduce the amount of gold in the game. Bring the economy back down a bit.

They need to fix their economy, not completely destroy it.

 

Even if they did RWT prices would always beat theirs.

They already do, the squeal of fortune "alchemists amulet" promotion gave gold at a rate of 40 cents per mil.

The day they offer RSGP on a plate is the day it goes down the pan for good. They'll introduce new schemes and micro-transactions, but never actual, guaranteed amounts of gold.

I wish I had a link, but somewhere someone calculated the amount of USD it'd take to max an account (lamps & GP) and it was around 80k$ - which means RWT'ing is way way more efficient than squeal.

 

They should come out with a new currency to go alongside the GP tbh. In Habbo the main currency was HC for years, then when they did a merge with another server it became T's and HC's lost their value, the economy became much better. Silver coins maybe.

But no, they shouldn't sell that, nor should they ever sell GP. I don't think they're that stupid.

To me, the four points above are reason enough for me to think Jagex would be stupid enough to begin selling straight in-game currency or even items.

 

Never. Well only in sneaky ways such as SOF. They would be the biggest hypocrites in the history of online games if they all of a sudden sold gp directly to players lol.

 

Yea it's just like other people stated, they will keep bringing in new micro-transactions to the point where they might as well be selling gold.

 

That would be very difficult to do without making rich players of now rage quit when their money isn't worth as much.

 

Not really if they just make monster-drops and stuff a different currency. It would be slowly introduced to the game, giving rich players a bit of time to buy items or other stuff with their gold.

 

The only way they would possibly sell gold to players if they became desperate. The community in general for RS is already corrupted. Doing that would make them even more of a laughing stock throughout MMPORG games.

 

Jagex should make a new set of weapons/armour which are only purchasable through shops/after you complete quests which cost a shit load of $$$ so they can get rid of all the excess gold in the game.

 

Jagex will never directly sell gold to players as it will break their TOS. They however sell gold and other things to players via things like Squeal of Fortune.

Selling gold directly? Nah. Unless they want to truin their own game.
