Xbox One vs. Playstation 4

PS4, Kingdom Hearts 3 being one main reason.

I don't mind Microsoft but the Xbox just doesn't seem to have what I want from a games console. I don't hate Microsoft / Xbox One (hating a piece of metal + chipsets is just stupid), its just not for me.

I do still have my PS2, which ran amazing well till it broke a few years back. I skipped the PS3 because it was just too expensive when it came out and as time went on I decided it wasn't really worth it.

 

PS4.
Seeing as they are adding charges to the PSN which I believe will lead to an better time while playing multiplayer games such as COD/BF4.

My poll options were going to be like fill in the blanks: I used to love ___ but for the next generation I'll use ___.

I think a LOT of people are switching to Playstation 4, even some huge Xbox fanboys.

 

I mean they both look like crap, but I actually think I might go to PS4. Alot of great games are coming out for PS4 + the great games coming out on both consoles. I think Sony put more time and money into the PS4, than Microsoft grabbing a old VCR and writing Xbox one on it. This is also pretty sad coming from me because I love Xbox, but they ruined it.

Going back to playstation.

 

PS4 because online will get better and still free!!

 

Actually there's going to be a very small fee now for the PS Play service.

I'm leaning towards the PS4 purely due to no restriction on trading/reselling games etc and not having to be online to play but even then I shan't be purchasing a next gen console for some time after they come out.

 

PS4 pretty much because it's $100 cheaper than XB1...

idk, I'd have to try them both out, physically, before making a final decision, just like test driving a car.

 

I'm not a huge console fan, but having played/owned both xbox360 and PS3, I can say without a doubt I enjoyed the PS3 more.

As Jack said though, I doubt I'll be buying either for a long time after they're released. I'm not going to be forking out a lot of money for a PS3 with an upgrade when I already have one.

 

Not to mention the shortage of games upon release and a lot of developers are not porting their games to the next-gen (GTA5 comes to mind)

 

I have to admit though, xbox live feels more polished ;/

I have always been an Xbox fanboy. Not to the point some are, but I've always preferred Xbox over PS. I'll personally be keeping my Xbox 360 for a few more years and I'm not bothering with the new consoles for now.

However.. If/when I upgrade it will be to a PS4 (unless Nintendo are secretly developing the ultimate console by looking at the pros and cons of both Microsoft and Sony), the main reason I won't be getting an Xbox one is purely down to not being able to share games with friends etc. having to have constant Internet connection sucks also... There are many reasons but it actually dissapoints me just to talk about Xbox one now.. They fucked up and I hope they realise it and sort their shit out.

I'm on my phone so I haven't proof read this.. But I assume half of it is a rant about The One.

 

But we also get some more things like a redesigned social network structure. Makes it easier to stream, make videos, and now we even have cross game party chat.

I'm willing to a little bit for that.

Was never a fan of xbox. I had the original and i didnt enjoy it that much. Id usually go over to my buddys house to play ps2. Now with ps4 i think they will learn from their mistakes from this gen. I.E party chat etc. Im really happy there shipping a headset with every system. No more dead silence in lobbys not to mention now more people will be able to communicate better in team based games. Kinda sucks it only comes with an HDMI cable. I wont be able to bring it to my moms house. Also i think the ps4 looks really good. But i do like the look of my fat ps3 much better. Hopefully ps4 XMB will be much faster and more stable. Also i like that they are charging 4$ a month. It just means we will get more servers and a better gaming experience overall. Not to mention all the free ps+ games. 12 free games are out this month alone. Sony is doing a great job.

My assessment after reading a great deal of xbox vs ps4 articles

(the console mentioned will be the winner of that category)

Online System (PSN/XBL) = Xbox
Online Bonuses = PS4, you get free downloads to a range of full games and other content whereas xbox is more demos, etc.
Online Price = PS4
Overall Performance = Relatively Even, slight edge to PS4
Easier To Code for = PS4, apparently one of the parts makes it similar to a PC to code for which makes it easier to code for? (Could mean to more of a range of games)
HDD = PS4, they both technically have the same 500gb HDD currently but with the PS4 you can put a new HDD in whereas you can't for the Xbox I've read.
Graphics = Relatively Even, slight edge to PS4
Kinect/Move = Xbox
Price = PS4
Game Rights = PS4 (Expect to be buying a lot more online passes etc though)
Controller = PS4 (Xbox previously was more comfortable but PS4 has adapted a similar shape. Skeptical as to whether it will be as comfortable but they have a touch pad, 3 way sensor and microphone in/on the controller and Xbox doesn't - so ya.)
Range Of Games = Depends on the person. Personally I prefer PS4's line up of games as I am not a fan of halo but whatever.
Entertainment Hub = Xbox, but do we really need to be able switch between TV & the game that desperately? PS4 boasts similar features with a stand-by mode where you can resume gaming nearly instantly but doesn't have voice control)
Offline Gameplay = PS3, why the fuck does the xbox require you to be on the net once every 24 hours or it will shut you out of gaming? SMFH
