18 Year Old Driver?

What is a nice car for an 18 year old? Decent on MPG and won't rape me in insurance??
NO really expensive cars though, i got a budget

I am looking at a Scion Tc, Convertible Sebring, and a Nissan Altima & Sentra.

i'm 19 driving a Vauxhall astra... 2nd year driving and im paying £1300 insurance ermm id say Vauxhall corsas or Opel depending on where you're from.

 

What sort of budget at you looking at? Are you getting used or new?

 

Get a toyota camry from just about any year and it'll last you a while and get you good mpg.

 

Honda Civic or Scion Tc like you mentioned are good choices...

Btw do convertibles make insurance go up alot?

 

honestly if it's your first car just buy a civic, you'll save money on gas and insurance and on price, and if you crash it it wont be that big of a deal

however if you want to get something decently sporty for that kind of cash, get a honda prelude.

Nissan Altima is pretty bad on gas, I used to have one, also some of the used models start developing some weird problems. I think you're better off just buying a civic, you could get a good one for under $8k

 

ive found plenty of cars for my budget, like alot, but i don't want to buy a 5 or 6k car cause they usually suck tbh rebuilt titles and such.

 

Late 90's to early 2000's 5-series or 7-series bmw. I've driven them my whole life. 6-8 grand for a close to mint one with low miles. They are heavy, safe and good on gas. I get 32mpg highway and 22 mpg through town in my current 5.

 

Hes a new driver.. if he lives in the UK then if you wanna get a car like that insurance price is high

The insurance isn't too bad on a BMW, I own a 2006 525i and pay $200 a month for the insurance. I live in Canada, but I'm sure it's not too bad on your insurance depending on the model.

 

Don't buy a fiat. I had a punto grande, they're rolling death traps.

 

Nissan are usually good on gas, and don't need many repairs,and they are a decent first car

 

maybe you can contact your insurance and ask..

 

look for a 4 door vehicle.

honda civic, toyota camry, toyota corolla will be the cars that bring ur insurance rate down. good student and good driver will help bring down the costs as well.

i pay 40-55$ a month for a toyota camry and only have one side insurance. its been 3-4 years now and never been in an accident and only got one ticket that got cleared with school.

just make sure you aren't at "fault" and you're good to go.
