Helping out other games

in regards/conjuction with http://www.sythe.org/suggestions/1583820-fixing-other-games-discussion.html


We need to step up to the plate and make other games active aswell in discussion, and get the shit infested runescape dominated site on the right path.


My suggestion is having more community involed events, me and n4n0 have tried it with the sythe.org community gaming night which can be find here http://www.sythe.org/community-general/1474007-sythe-org-community-gaming-night.html

Which has never really taken off except the time we did counter strike we had a good bit popping up.



I'm suggesting we hit up some of the f2p mmos/game out there such as

-Rift a MMORPG that just became f2p with no missing content/levels to non subs

-D/D Neverwinter a F2p mmorpg a rather fun game to play when bored

- planetside 2 huge scale fps

- Tribes ascend the most fast paced shooter made to date with jet backs and all kinds of goodies, and did i mention jetpacks?

- TF2 we all know about this

theres tons of other games we can do, i recomend CDT/mods help take over the community gaming night, and acc give out perks like idk a fun rank for a week, or new types of miniranks, and not just base it off what me/n4n0 fork over in our own money/donations we recieve -which we havnt got any- to give out cd keys etc to people who participate.



ultimately its going to boil down to giving people stuff to get them to join in on things.

and while doing these events, promote them across the sythe.org steam team pages, facebook, and even making a sythe.org stream team of sorts, which i'm sure if sythe himself was to talk with at twitch he could get a network setup for sythe.org which would allow stuff like this.

which me and n4n0 are apart of, and could have reqs in conjuction with the new stream forum when its put in to have sythe.org members streaming on a network/sythe.org channel and could help promote shit etc etc etc...



its pretty much free advertising with some managing work which im sure n4n0 and myself would take over/run.


ultimatly this would do the follow for the site

- make other games a thriving section with active discussions
-bring new members to the site
- bring in monay. through donations

teh99prayerkid & ZippyGFX opted in to other games as their role in the CDT, perhaps you could approach them and come up with some ideas. There was some discussion before but it didn't go anywhere

 

i will prob abstain from most discussion as you said yourself it din't go anywere and that pretty much is what was going on while on the CDT myself.



i already have most ideas, just need help implementing them.

 

and I still plan on doing it, but we just haven't really sat down and talked about what we would like to do, it's not been taken too seriously and i do agree that we really should get life into the other games section as it could bring quite a bit of life to the forums.

EDIT: i also like you're idea of a sythe stream team, if we can use the members of the community to get the "Stream team" different people would be able to stream from the same account [Have the same password for the twitch account] and we can work our way to getting a sub button, and then if that would happen twitch gets 2.50 and the streamer gets 2.50 per subscription, so if we started to stream, we could get our view base way out past sythe and into the "twitch" community, and really get some bad ass advertising, while making sythe some money*

*Making sythe money is just one thing we could decide to do with money if we actually started to make money off of twitch streams.

but i think with the popularity of twitch, that's a good place to grab users...while we stream, we promote sythe.org, make sure we use refferal links so while each streamer is streaming, we can tell how many people signed up for the forums during each one of the users stream times.

Like Roary said, i really would love to take a firm grip on other games and fix it, and bring it to life, and i'm glad other members of the community can agree with us.

 

I love the idea of a sythe stream team on Twitch. Twitch has a massive viewer base and if all different streamers play different games we can reach out to a massive audience - therefore promoting sythe massively.

i don't use skype anymore.

As for the twitch account you don't need the password, so only the admins/sythe himself need to know it, instead, there is a stream key that you give to those people, and when they want to stream on the sythe channel they just put that key in.

also i think if someone is willing to foot the bill some gfx members on this site, could make a really awesome twitch layout for the channel. if it takes off that is.

Setting up streaming times etc wont be that hard to do, and can be managed on a single thread, with whos doing what etc, i have pmed sythe himself to come read this thread, so i am waiting for him to acknowledge if we are allowed to set this up etc.

 

School is wrapping up and I think we will have a lot of time to plan this out and try to make it successful. The whole twitch stream is a great idea, a lot of members play games other than runescape on these forums and it's time we take this into consideration. LoL, PoE, and Dota seem to be pretty popular here on Sythe so maybe we could start off by hosting an event with one of these games.

 

alright sounds great, make sure to keep me posted on what's going on, and how I can help, and what you need me to do.

also note, the games you suggested are all pc, we can't just focus on pc games, we need to focus on xbox, and ps3 as well.

Don't forget the call of duty section is rather big as well, and could utilize it somehow to make a good benefit for sythe

 

well being as i dont own a 360 or ps someone else will have to do those.

 

I only play CoD on the PC, so I can't help you out in-game with console based games. I can try to help out with other aspects but you will need to try to contact someone like DJ maybe who is active in the Xbox section.

 

I'd love to get involved in these but my internet is made of cardboard and there's no way I'd be able to download a massive game like nevawinter in the amount of time you guys would give us notice/stream it.

My internet is just way to slow for even streaming stuff, although I would be really interested in helping with the layout and what not, I was thinking that the community seems a little dead right now and anything to make it more active.

 

When we were doing Game of the Week, we were giving a weeks notice on the next game. That's plenty of time to download whatever game it may be for the week providing you're on anything other than dialup.

 

I used to go hard with call of duty. Was super active with gamebattles and such I could get back into it. Also I'll do whatever I can to help just keep me updated

Other Games really needs some love. It would be great if you restarted your game events and ran with them. First though, the globals/admins need to effectively sort out other games and restructure it properly. So far, they seem unwilling to even put in the minutes to read a suggestion -_-

 

reason i stopped doing it is because no one would showup, sure they'd post on the thread to get that +1 postcount but that was it.

 

I support the idea and would join in on any team games that my computer can handle. Maybe get a ventrilo server going which I would be willing to setup so that sythe people can hangout in it and chat. If you guys want to give the ventrilo a chance then let me know and I can set one up.

 

solution = purge mini ranks and get le event participant mini rank that stays with you for a month or something

 

Still no word from sythe about this, if any mods are willing to help run these shoot me a pm. or any other members. will be looking to have the new community events updated by end of the month.
