Protect Oldskool Runescape from evil updates

Hey guys,

You might not be aware, but Jagex is already trying to ruin OLDSKOOL runescape with NEW updates. They want to add a new minigame with new (level 50 melee) gear. See this developers blog:

They actually already have a poll on whether we want this or not:

And guess what, all the pre-eoc products are voting yes. Currently 77% is voting yes on this latest content poll for this new minigame. We need over 1000+ "NO" votes to reach 74% and then this update will (hopefully) not happen. The poll runs until the 12th of June in the afternoon.

If we allow them to put this through, I fear that we will have godwars, the corporal beast and summoning within no time. Then money making will mostly happen through PVM, ruin pures with new overpowered armour, PK'ing will die again etc. Please vote "NO" on all your member accounts at the first question of the fifth content poll to make sure this doesn't happen. And tell all your friends, clanmates and anyone who would vote "NO" on this poll to vote.

i want to this update... where not going to get new armours we can just enjoy doing something new for a change

 

You may not want it but 07 NEEDS updates in order to survive. There just isn't enough variety to hold people's interest for that long.

 

This is the sad truth.

 

The update has passed, it is called the 'Nightmare Zone' minigame.

I was disappointed, I find it really idiotic that they would even have a poll for a minigame based off of one of the biggest minigame failures that is currently in EoC, when they could have been developing a more well-received piece of content from the 2007-2012 era, such as stealing creation or godwars.

 

Shame but the Jagex is so confused by the greedy and divided Rs community, I don't even blame them for coming up with random stuff like this. People are taking OSRS for granted and are never satisfied with what they have.

 

People wanted 07 servers back because it's 07, we don't want new updates implemented that are NOT from 07.

If people are getting bored of the current game, then they should of realised that they would eventually get bored when voting for the servers to come back in the first place.

 

Jagex said they wouldn't be adding these updates, 1 update leads to 2 leads to 4 etc. it will just get out of hand before too long and it will be like eoc.

Regardless of our opinion jagex will go ahead with the update as they always do the last like 5-6 polls I've voted in was against or for them doing something and even though my voting side won by 60-80% they still went ahead and did their shitty idea.

Jagex needs to find their own game get Andrew back in there and let him give them ideas Jagex's constant " hey lets copy every other game in existence because we are a bunch or business men who are clueless about gaming" way of thinking has killed RSC, EOC, and soon to be 07scape.

 

I personally don't know where you're pulling this from... As if jagex is going to keep updating 07 scape when they already have EOC.. They are purely seeing what the community want.

 

I wouldn't worry too much. Jagex will never make an update to 07 that is forced on you. You will never be obligated to play the new content. They're not going to make graphical updates. They're not going to change the interface. They're not going to add in the skills-useless-counter-xp-thing - 07 will be pure 07 for those who want it to be. If people want an extra minigame - that will be there, but you will never be forced to play anything they add.

 

it will remain boring... updates will be community driven so its what the majority of the community wants

I don't understand why you're so against this. They're doing this for the sake of keeping OSRS alive. Putting in fresh content for the players who have, now, completed everything; maybe it doesn't make sense to you now but when you get to that point it will.

They simply cannot at this time, but it will in no way effect the possibility of a God Wars Dungeon. For all we know they might be working towards making this possible, at this very moment, while in the mean time feeding the community something new. It's not a "this or that" decision, it's more like "Do you want 'this' while we create 'that', or would you rather stick the normal routine while we create 'that'?".

 

People are so blindly against updates it ruining the game. We need the updates so the game wont become stagnant. We don't have to make it like EOC, but we need updates.

 

Someone doesn't like trying new things...
