"Nostalgia wore off"?

So I was browsing the OSRS forums the other day and I came across a thread which had the same title as this thread here.

When I first heard OSRS was coming back I was really excited. But it seems that just a couple of months after its release I'm getting bored. For me, RuneScape has always had its phases with me and I get bored and quit then come back... but this time I just feel bored in general as in I don't know what to do in the game and I don't feel a sense of achievement, mainly because there's 2 games running (EoC and OSRS).

So I was just wondering if anyone else is pretty bored or whether they're still really enjoying the game.

I still enjoy it, but I do see an end-game in site. I really just wanted to be able to wear my three favorite armors again: Addy G, Guthix, and Dragon. The items I already obtained through a couple of methods. Once I'm done training and can wield these things, I don't really see anything else I'm going to be doing in 07 and will go back to EoC.

 

i love it, and i will always, its not nostalgia, its just a different game, better than eoc.

 

I play 07 and eoc.. And tbh 07 got preety boring now

 

I voted yes, never played 07 prefer eoc

 

It gets boring just like any game does over time. That's what updates are for, however Jagex hasn't really done anything in terms of new content.

 

I play both, to keep 07 scape still fun time to time

 

Didn't like how everyone already high leveled on EoC hopped on 07 and just 24/7'd to get 80+ slayer, and other very high stats before the rest so they could make millions and millions.

 

I love 07, and the fact that everyone had to start from scratch again was pretty awesome... I think they should do that with EOC. The economy in the main game is just messed up.

 

Still waiting for it to become f2p to feel the nostalgia again

I was going to make a thread as well, because I am bored too. Try taking a few days off..

 

I was really excited when it came out, I mean the nostalgia that kicked in was indescribable. But I always somehow knew it was temporary. My goal was to get all combat 99s just like I did way back then in the real oldschool runescape. Somehow I made it to 123 combat, but lately I've been quite inactive. I mean I barely logged in in the past 2 weeks.

 

Havent touched EOC since OSR came, so yeah I love it

 

Yes, OSR is getting kind of old we need new updates.

 

Ditto. It's the other way around for me, since OSRS I've gotten bored of EoC and much more interested in 07.

 

I don't really enjoy OSRS, when I play my games I prefer nice graphics, interactive game play and with OSRS I don't get that.
I always have EOC on high graphics and it's just more enjoyable for me, even when doing those grinding skills, it's why I'm excited for RS3!

 

I recently just got back into it, I'm still enjoying it.

 

Everyone were on the 2007 hype for like a week or two, but it all ended. People need to realise 2007 is not the same as it was. 2007 is too repetetive and boring. Pre-eoc used to be alot more fun. I also find it funny how 500k people voted and only 30k play aswell. Also making 2 versions of 1 game is just terrible. It's cutting the activity in half for both of the versions.

 

Some interesting responses here guys Seems that it's pretty 50/50 which isn't too great considering half the people who voted yes are now finding it boring... I've only been logging into OSRS to get the rare items then I just log out. I've tried taking breaks (like 2 weeks+!) and it seems EVEN harder to get back into it as I'm finding it very boring. Might finally be time for me to move away from RuneScape after 8+ years...

 

Yeah when i heard i couldn't wait for it to come out. Now it's wore off :/
