Why is RS so dead these days?

its get boring too fast , at first everyone was excited damn thoses memories fuck yeah everyone was questing chilling making money but then everyone realized oh fuck im just wasting my time clicking and then millions we're back into market then bot everywhere then ....... fuck it lol well thats my opinion , i had a friend who played runescape atleast 10hours/day when it released got hiself a fire cape 87 str around 5-6M (no staking just skilling) he even got to top 200 in minig when it cames out etc but then he stopped the next month didnt even botter paying another membership just because of what ive said lol (had to open my hearth and talk about rs lol)

 

Game doesn't appeal to the current demographics.

 

RS isn't even that dead, it was just so alive before. Remember people are split between 2 servers mainly now.

 

I would play 07 but i would really miss the ge, i hate having to wait around for items i need lol

 

The reason most people quit is because Jagex began to heavily monetize the game. They stopped banning bots and started releasing weekly updates for the squeel of fortune and solomon store.

On top of this, they pretty much spat in the face of the community with their responses because of how unaware they were to how bad the situation was.

I was excited for 07 at first, then I tried to play just couldn't get back into it
I enjoy EoC admittedly, you have to pay more attention but it's not exactly a bad step in my opinion all game's have to be upgraded, just a lot of people don't agree with this one but there's still a bit of people like myself who enjoy it.

 

well, I went on EoC and all I saw was a troll she-male arguing with me what my irl gender was.

Saying shit like "you have a 3 digit, that means your a male" and "you have a short, rare name, your a name seller on sythe". :L

Eoc ruined the game, and i honestly dont like the new graphics. the armor and everything was so much cooler when it wasnt so complex

 

Because there are a lot of bots on Runescape nowadays, and even if it was a player - most players are reserved and to themselves these days simply because of the awful community RS become.

 

What I truly miss is the video makers, so many series unfinished, so many characters that are just abandoned, so much humor is forgotten in the short span of a year.

 

Eoc has BEEN dead, sorry to say.

 

This is probably happening due to the people that enjoyed Runescape have either matured too much for the game or been put off it from the updates such as EOC. The younger generations that haven't played Runescape yet are deterred from getting into it due to the more appealing natures of other online games nowadays. Runescape tried to counter that with the EOC update, but it didn't lure in the new fan base they wanted and instead alienated their own current fan base.

 

People are having finals at the moment, that is why they don't play because school is a priority

 

Mabye, but most countries have summer vacations already and this year's population should peak at either July or December.
