When are gold prices likely to drop?

Lost a lot of gold gambling but I must say I love it even losing it X_X
Wanting to buy some more but anytime the prices are likely to drop and what price to?

OS or EoC? OS Is going down all the time, I saw a post for 40k for $16, few months ago though but now it is alot cheaper.

Its highly unlikely it will drop mainly because, there is a certain line when EoC isn't just worth selling/buying gold anymore.

 

It's pretty simply really. GP will continue dropping until Jagex finds a way to address the gold farming problem and the already trillions of GP in the game. I recall saying gold would be 0.25 when it was 0.50 and I think it would still drop to .10. As for a time, probably a year and some. Look at the trends (old GP selling threads) and try to establish a curve.

Meow that's not true for two reasons:
1. Profit margins are larger when GP is cheaper. For example, GP sellers used to buy at .7 and sell and .85 but now they can buy for .2 and sell for .3. A lot of bulk sellers don't recognize the percentage difference only the 10 cent difference.
2. People usually spend their whole budget ($20,$50, etc) - not just a mil amount- so they'll receive more GP but resellers will be making more profit.

 

Well how can gold farmers profit from farming gold when it just becomes so cheap and then requiring make the right amount of profit to buy membership for each one of those accounts guessing they use around 20-50 accounts botting dragons so about 250k/an hour.. 1mill = 0.10-0.30p.

When you said buying/selling I assumed you were referring to the Sythe market. Gold farmers will reach an equilibrium point, yes, but at the same time apparently they're using stolen credit cards. I obviously don't know their fiscal situation(and what they need to make profit) but it's probably pretty low.

If one person's solo job was to run bots, how many do you think he could do? They're already well established and have pretty good offices and dell computers(i've seen pictures of a few offices)

 

EoC gold is cheap enough for me right now, 07 on the other hand is still a bit expensive

 

Ahh thanks for the info Nick, I'll wait a bit and build up a pile of cash would it be wise to wait for it to drop to say .10cents/m then buy bils and sell them off for a higher price?

I guess I could be able to buy 10B at .1/m for $1000 then wait a few months to sell it off at $3000? if it were to ever rise....

 

Don't ever count on gold going up. The only time that gold has seen a measurable increase in price was at the bot nuke. The only things that could cause an increase in price is.

1. A huge money sink update (increased demand)
2. Something that makes GP harder to collect (e.g., bot nuke) (decreased supply)
3. Large scale influx of players (increased demand)

None of these things are occuring in the foreseeable future, unless the new skills are a substantial money sink.

Aside from that, EoC gold is very cheap. 1 hour of moderate to high money making on EoC gives you like, 30 cents worth of gold. You can get pretty much all the best gear for $100-200 dollars, which takes not even a week at a minimum wage job.

 

Dont think it can drop anymore unless Jagex manages to make an even worse update..
