This early in the season you don't need 5 wins. Riot only introduced that at the end of last season for obvious reasons.

You're missing the point. Everyone prior to the announcement last season still received rewards regardless of the 5 wins.

The situation is the same this season. Until announced, you do not require 5 wins.

 

Coming to a close? Why do you say that? If it's still early enough to not require 5 wins I don't think it's ending any time soon.

First of all, do you really think riot would make an announcement saying that, "If you create a ranked team now you won't need to win 5 win."

Tbh this is mostly on the assumption that Riot follows the same routine as last season. Incase you're unaware, if you joined a team of X rating you, you would get the rewards for that X rating as long as you joined PRIOR to the announcement.
