Need LOTS of Obby Mauler Help

I decided to make an obby mauler, but have no idea where to start..

What are the best stats for an obby mauler? (Plan on staying 1/5 attack)

If not using ranged while pking, what weapons should I use?

Well where do we start; first up I recommend scrolling through the 07 gen section because there have been multiple threads about obby maullers lately. I'd personally suggest getting 5 attack ALTHOUGH, you can do the death pletau quest and get climbing boots for the extra str bonus (+2) but this will leave you with around 17 attack (correct me if I'm wrong) so that's for you to decide on that part.

I also can't stress this more, but get 55 slayer and get the slayer staff.

 

Yea, I've heard that 5 att is best in 07, 20 att was only good back pre-eoc for corrupt. I planned on getting slayer staff, do I use slayer staff to pk?

 

Yes slayer staff and str ammy then switch into obby maul and berserker necklace. Also if you range keep it about 25 levels lower than your str (it has to be 20 levels lower but range with knives levels up fast while pking)

 

Don't bother getting 1 attack, it won't make a noticable difference since the only people you would fight would be 1 def. Use range (Rune Knives if you feel fancy, mage short if not), never a slayer staff.

 

I had/have a maxed obby mauler and I made it back in 2003. Stats were:
5 att
99 str
1 def
82 range
1 mage
74 hp
cb level: 56 or something like that
Personally I think if you get maxed str gear with black dhide chaps and you use:
Rune Knives until half hp>Msb Spec>obby maul
Usually ko's people and the majority of my fights lasted under a minute.

 

^Hmm, might try that out. What stats would I get before pking? Don't feel like maxing out my obby mauler yet, but what stats should I have before going pking?

 

It depends, I would say low leveled go 1 att 75 str 1 def 60 range or get 80 str and 70 range.

Hardly any, without attack you can't get climbing boots, crystal bows, ancients, etc.

 

Yeah, beig an obby mauller you usually steer clear of all quests that give attack xp. Like stated climbing boots is instant 17 attack.. Which in reality, you don't want. So that's a bonus for you

yeah you can get mithril gloves still. Lots of quests really.

 

can get mith gloves and unholy book from horror from the deep... thats all i did

 

I need mage for horror from the deep though?

 

i think next time i get a memb card ima refer a friend and make a mauler on that acc.
