My Car's Progress Thread!

Names Alex, get called Zander, I'm 19 from Scotland and have recently purchased a C2 GT for my first car!




Car Just Now!








Progress Start.
(this is when i first got it, I will keep you guys posted on whatever I do to it!)
Safe to say I love the thing already!

58k on the clock, 1 Lady owner from new, it's almost mint!

Completely standard.




Not entirely sure of what I'm wanting to do to it just yet but here's a list so far..

Aesthetics;
Stickers - Check!
Black Rear Valance - Check!
Possibly colour code the mirrors etc.
Wind deflectors.
Smoked rear lights. - Check!
Smoked Side Repeaters - Check!
Yellow Tint Headlights
TRS Tow strap at the front.
Get some of the minor scuffs touched up.
Get the wheels refurbed.
HID's - Check! but taken out due to them being shit.
Would like to buy a set of deep dish BBS or Lenzos with a polished rim and purple center when I have enough money..

Engine;
Uprated Cams and injectors
Re-map.
421 manifold
Cat-Back exhaust system with a 3.5" Tail pipe (Not wanting a huge jap can or anything) - Check!
Induction Kit - Check!

Suspension/Wheels;
Coilovers - Check!
20mm spacers at the back
Not too sure if I want to keep the GT Alloys white for just now.

ICE;
Upgrade door speakers
New Heat Unit - Check!
Subwoofer - Check!


That's all I can really think of just now.. Open to any suggestions

 

Keep it standard buddy lol, you're going to end up looking like a wannabe fast and furious racer and you will decrease the value in it loads for fucking around with it. It's your first car it gets you to A-B ofc it's not the greatest car in the world but you got a car just leave it alone your gonna butcher it

 

Oh dear. Was hoping that this was gonna be an old car restoration thread. With c2's and other crappy chavvy cars, if you do things to them people will look at you like a tosser, police are more likely to pull you and you'll annoy the fuck out of people with your massive exhaust at 2mph.

 

No offense but when you see a crappy car that a teenager has wasted a lot of money on its not impressive but just stupid. Save your money for post-secondary instead of wasting it on a car that will break as soon as the shittiest part goes on it. Not to mention the tickets you'll get for the sound and how stupid it sounds coming from a disposable car.

 

what's the displacement on that thing, 1.8L? lol

Laugh if you's want... but I've had the car for over a year now, just thought I'd copy the thread from another forum on to here. I've got the cams and a re-map on it. It's a 1.6l car with 155 bhp.... it gets 136mph top speed and goes from 0-60 in less than 7 seconds. which isn't bad for a little thing. There's no big chavvy body kits going any where near it and it's never broken down.

 

1.6l should do over 140 anyways, I've got a 1.3CDTI van that does 123mph..

Did you have it professionally re-mapped or in a little garage, and by the way, for some added ponies.

That's asuuming yours is the 16 valve. With some effort that can take it above 200.

 

Totally agree with most people on this, cars look better nice and fresh, sort of have that classy look. If you go throwing stickers on it people are just gonna think you're a Colin McRae wanna-be.

Fuck you. I had a Saxo, and I wasn't a boy racer, nor a chav. Drop the stereotype.

 

Just seems like a lot of waste for a little result.

 

Finally! I'm not a chav or a boy racer either, I'd have a better car if I could afford the insurance, but I quite like the looks of these and they are nippy little things for what they are!


I know most of you are probably american, and all love your big massive engined mustangs and what not, but its near an impossibility to insure anything over 2.0l until your 21 here so the majority of younger drivers all drive little cars like this.

I like the looks of it now, I think it looks a lot better than it was when it was standard.

And I'm not just slapping stickers on it, I've lowered the ride height with coilover suspension because the thing handled like a boat before. Now it's a hell of a lot better around the corners. It's a lot faster than it was before now, and can overtake a lot safer.


And to the guy who said a 1.6 should go over 140mph, where the hell are you getting that from?
Show me a standard 1.6 that gets over 140 out of the factory?

Not very many heavily modified 1.6's will get 140mph.

My friend has a 190hp 1.8 celica that can just do about that.

And no i'm not putting any chavvy looking body kiss or anything on it, I like to go for subtle modifications that look half decent.

 

Don't listen to the people saying dont upgrade your car… they are all old dudes that simply don't understand -.- I think you should tint the windows as much as you can legally and it woul look cooler. Also lets see the sub you put in.

Edit: I'm American and I hate mustangs. They aren't even fast -.-

 

Can't relate, am American. Gas over here is $3.18/gallon, I literally couldn't find a car less than 2.0L except for a prius.

 

but in all seriousness, it's kinda cool. the handling must be unreal

however come to glorious north america sometime, and rent some kind of challenger and feel all that glorious v8 powah and body roll

 

Yeah but I bet you didn't slam it, put stickers all over the back window and useless mods. If you do that to a saxo/corsa/c2 you're a chav. If you do it to a scooby or a supra that's different. Everyone knows putting race stickers in your back window and wings add 20 BHP.
