do i stay 1 attack on my Obby Mauler?

Thread name pretty much sums it up, Do I don't I? pros and cons on 1-5-10-20 attack?

Also would stayer staff still be the best weapon at that level?

 

5 would be ideal, and yes slater staff.

 

is 5 attack much better? also should I be doing a quest to get 5 attack or just get it training?

That quest would give you 3k xp which would give you 16 attack.

 

How astute.. Yes just train the 5 attack, it's your best bet. Also, slater staff works well in your build.

 

I always got Climbing Boots, 16 Attack, trained w/ Slayer staff, it was awesome. You gain combat levels, sure, but it's worth it for the STR bonus and extra accuracy from 16 compared to 1. I have ran multiple Obby Maulers, all w/ 16-20 attack.

 

I'm 5 attack atm, if I find 5 attack abit on the inaccurate side I'll probably try that

 

Anything above 5 attack is a huge waste. 20 attack maulers were only smarter when the vesta long sword came out.

 

It's a bit late, because the quest you needed to do gives attack xp, if you wanted the str bonus from climbing boots. I think you will find 5 attack to be ok. Test it out and make sure to get slayer staff, let me know how it goes!

 

Don't get any attack, just use range to maul. Range to maul gives you all the accuracy and speed of range without having to waste unnecessary attack levels. 20 was only good because of vesta long pre-eoc.

It sounds like you have it made up in your mind that you are going to raise your attack - and ruin your mauler - so not sure why you are continuing to ask.

I'd suggest staying 1 attack. looks soooo much sweeter on paper rather than 5 attack.... IMO dont gain unnecessary attack levels.

 

I'm 5 attack now, hits loads more I must say. I would have stayed 1 attack if I was range/melee, but I'm gonna just use slayer staff then maul ( Thanks for all the advise guys

 

I think with 07 being...well 07, there are no corrupts, so 20 attack is WAY overkill for an obby mauler, i'd say get 5-10 attack.

I think getting 5 attack makes you hit something like 10-20% more often on 1 defence, so fighting pures with that 5-10 attack will increase your "how often you hit" by quite a bit.

But it just depends on if you want the combat levels

 

I believe it only adds 1 cb level, and tbh I think I've made a aswsome decision going 5 attack what with me being melee based. I realise that now my account isn't to everyones taste but fuck it! I think it rocks Need 10 more slayer levels yet though

 

Slayer staff is trash compared to knives or a msb.

 

Evedently not since quite a few of the well known maulers use slayer staff?.. And Its easily the fastest way to train Strength so even if I don't decide to use it during pking it will still come in handy.
