This has been around for a long time. Do not download DDosers or anything of the sort, they are 99.9% viruses. Most of them are there just to infect your computer. But yes, that is possible.

I've been drop hacked a bunch of times. People do it all the time at diamond when they don't want to lose. At first you think you just dced but then you log back on and its like the game never even started. Some creepy stuff right there mang. Sucks to be ahead by 20 kills only to be dropped from the game.

 

Happened to me 3x in a row on promo games on a friends account.

Weird how there is no match history for it. I'm sure the match cant just vanish from Riots system.

I know one working drophack (the one I myself use), which is a private drop hack; To answer your question, there is no known way of being able to protect yourself from being DC'd.
