Obviously there's a strong combat against scammers here which is good. As soon as I put my advert up I got PMs in seconds unlike most places, added a few people on skype, and got talking. A couple were apparently the most trusted people on here, people who've been around for years and handled a lot of money. But the thing is, I wanted to sit down and have a good talk with each and every person, and these particular two people were really rushing me. They expected me to pay them the money first when I'd know them for a matter of seconds, and when I explained I wanted to speak with other people too, they were accusing me of being a scammer and "trying to avoid the most reputed buyers". I'm sorry but that just crosses the line, the case looks basically like if you're a new seller with two posts you must automatically pay the "most trusted" person immediately all of your RS gold or you are classed as a scammer. Now my thread is also wrecked because he decided to falsely call me out as one. It's like I'm not allowed to talk to other people, find better prices elsewhere, get to know each person I'm going to deal with. I don't know if these two people were the most trusted people here, idiots who wanted to take things too fast, or scammers, but are we seriously meant to make deals as fast and undetailed as possible or we are called scammers?
Never rush, always take your time so you can gather the proof required. If people are rushing you, as you said, there are hundreds of other PM's waiting for you. Don't get scammed - the majority of newcomers do.
Just because someone's rushing you doesn't mean they're going to scam. For example big gold traders may be trading a lot of people or may be so used to doing it quickly per customer. Although a good trader should be willing to sit down and talk to you as well if you're that type of customer. Either way I would wait until the person does have time to sit down and talk. If its a new member I would use a MM.
One of them had a full topic offering me 0.23 per million, his name's system32 and I think that one might have actually been a big trader around here. The other one said he was from 2010. I don't know if it was a scam or not but the whole thing was basically "You hand over your gold now and accept what we pay you for it, or you are known as a scammer throughout sythe forever". I can see a big seller is busy but they should at least be willing to let the person talk to others first and get back to them rather than immediately accept whatever their offer is.
www.sythe.org/middleman-forums If in doubt, use someone trusted as a middleman. I PM'd you about your Skype, I can talk you through trading
Middleman sounds good but these people were saying it's unreasonable to ask to use one because they've been around so long and have a lot of vouches. But 580m is a lot of money.
Any good trader should understand and even be glad that you're being cautious. Just find someone else if you don't feel comfortable, that's the best bet.
There's a lot of people constantly willing to buy on this forum which is fine, but what I can't handle is when the people like the last person come onto the topic and try to make out I'm a scammer.
Unless they're Matthew and Sythe, you're not speaking to the two most trusted people on the site. I digress. However, if you simply want to avoid scams or being scammed, make friends with a trusted Official Middleman or other Middleman scouting the forums. Hopefully, you won't be disappointed and your business will not falter as well. In regards to this, I don't see any such accusations or threads of yours being wrecked. Good luck.
There is no such thing as taking too much time when selling something that is yours, if someone is rushing you let them know you are only shopping around. You're not a scammer for doing so. Always use a middleman, and always request private messages here on sythe to confirm who they say they are, otherwise if you were to be scammed, you wouldn't be compensated as you need that PM for proof.
exactly, make sure you always request for PM and also make sure to double check the skype adress. you might face imposters.
I understand with the big gold sellers (if they're the real ones not imposters) they have a lot of customers and like to get their trades out of the way so they can go to the next customer. I had a few people like yourself who wanted to actually chat to me before buying from me, I actually had no problem with it I don't see why anyone else would, it's nice to know some of the newer members have common sense!
If he accused you of scamming, report him. It's extremely likely they are no where near trusted and by the sounds of things I can bet they'll be banned within months.
One person just got banned from here last night, he wasn't one of the main people trying to pressure me though.
this kid just called me scammer for no reason when i just ask him why he talk shits about me if this continue, i will request several infractions with screenshots for proof
Someone I was talking to on PM said you scammed them. And your method was pretty dodgy, where did I call you a scammer?
i can understand if they were rushing because you were selling a little amount of gold but 580m is quite a bit, so really shouldn't of rushed you so much.
