About to start smoking marijuana

This weekend me and my mates are getting weed and are going to try it.
They've smoked it once and I have never.

We're all 13/14
Opinions on this?

I'm almost 27 and I smoke daily. Now I don't think it's addicting, trust me I have used Heroin, pills, ect. I can say that of everything I don't think marijuana is a big deal. It helps me with pain/depression, and I know that everyone is different. Honestly you do what you wanna do but you may not feel "high" right away but it also depends on how you smoke it.

Also remember that it is illegal and you are young, it could effect your brain differently than it does mine. I consider myself a heavy smoker, I usually get a ounce and smoke 4-5 times a day with my GF and that will last us like 3 weeks.

 

I've been to Amsterdam a fair few times, it's quite a surreal experience.

 

As djweasel previously stated, you are young and it does have more of a possibility of having a negative influence on your growth as an adult.

Either way abuse of anything, including Marijuana can do serious damage to anyone's life. If you can use marijuana responsibly while keeping up with school and any other important thing you have to do, then go ahead. If you can't do that now, stop smoking and re-evaluate the situation when you are a bit older.

 

That's pretty young for doing drugs to be honest.

Personally I think you'll be fine. Although at that age your brain is developing and its probably best not to get involved with drugs so young at that age. I can't say if its addictive or not because I've never done it. Obviously this isn't going to stop you doing it, so just do whatever feels right for you. Medically though, I would not recommend it at that age.

 

Your quite young, doing any drugs young probably isnt the best idea. However that being said, at your age I began drinking and didnt smoke until I was 17. Smoking weed has caused me a hundred times less problems than alcohol has and quite frankly Id love to see you smoke weed over getting wasted young and having health problems later in life.

Weed is an incredible thing, cherish it, don't think of doing anything dumb while blazed. Its a world wonder in my eyes. Gets you high, little to no aftereffects. Oxcycodone, Percecets, Zanex, Blow, LSD- it's all fun but led to problems. Weed isnt going to if you respect it. I smoke about an ounce a week, which is nothing compared to somepeople.

Lets be honest here. Marijuana will not kill you. The fact you're trying it at the age of 14 is slightly worrying. It may not affect your brain cells nor brain development but I can say from seeing this happen to numerous friends the younger you start the more likely you are to get into hard drugs. It is a gateway drug it lands you with groups of people who will escalate to get the next high. I've seen it happen and the younger you get into this group the more likely it is that it will happen to you. My only advice is avoid the hard drugs when the time arises its not worth it.

 

I agree that avoiding hard drugs is a good thing but I will say I don't think that marijuana is a gate way drug. I was introduced to pills and then it lead me to heroin. So I can't say just my smoking weed has caused me to wanna do heroin. If anything you'd be jonesing for heroin or some pills on the hard shit. I've never done coke so I can't comment on it, but I do know a few coke/meth people and they are all tweakers.

 

Personally, I'm super against ALL drugs including weed even if there is *no* big effects. One of friends did weed for awhile and he was literally high 24/7 and his memory is fucked beyond belief, he has trouble remembering things, he fucked up his high school life because he'd rather skip and get high.
I'm not saying this will happen to you, but there is always negative things to these things, no matter if it's weed or coke.

Just stay safe while doing it I guess, if no one can change your mind and you want to try it.

 

this. dude nobody cares if you smoke weed just dont flail you pot smoking wang everywhere being like "oh yo im so high right now bro" and don't start skipping class to get high. that shit happens ALL THE TIME to so many of my friends. im not saying weed is going to magically make you become so class skipping delinquent, but all of a sudden a friend might ask you to dip on 3rd period to come smoke with him, then it becomes maybe a once a week then, then fuck you're failing some class because you're either too high to learn fuck all or you're not there cause ya getting high.

however, you'll legit make so many friends smoking weed, it's actually killer. especially once you hit highschool and start going to parties, you'll be meeting people and chicks from other school just cause you're blazing wit em.

 

Wait until your body is fully developed if you want to take drugs. It can do all sorts of things to a young persons body; both physical and mental.

 

I would reccomend waiting till your a bit older, when your growing it have some pretty nasty side effects such as addictive qualities because at 13/14 you could get addicted to pretty much anything that makes you feel good.

 

i was about your age give a yr or two when i started smoking.... as above just make sure you got control of your life and it is an enhancement on your life not a hindrance. I would of done a lot better then i did in school if i was not skipping to get high/party so keep your priorities straight. Also, what i mean about enhancing weed also helped me think more clearly and made me a more spiritual person and much more mellow which is a good thing and was much needed in my case. Also, my suggestion would be go out and go for a walk in the woods or do something actively outside enjoy nature. one of my favorite things to do would be to go out deep in the woods and have deep coversations with good close friends while surrounded by natural beauty. I don't think it would have a nagative inpact on you or your life as long as you a person who has good self control. As mentioned above i know a lot of people who became "burnouts" and all they now want to do is smoke or do harder drugs don't let yourself become that. No, i don't agree with pot being necessarly a gateway drug but it definently makes it easier to move to harder drugs by giving you access (people who sale or do it). Also, something to keep in mind the first time you smoke you probably won't get high depending on the strength and how you smoke it... I find a bong to be the best way to absorb just fyi

 

Been smoking pot since I was 12, going on 13. Personally, I think it's good for you, like most anything, in moderation. Smoking a few bowls or a couple blunts with your friends on the weekend is one thing, but smoking daily, heavily, etc. could prove problematic. Don't let it get in the way of your school life, and I think you'll be just fine. Who knows? You might not even like it. Believe it or not, I've actually smoked with first timers who did not enjoy the taste, nor the high.

 

Here's my input. You'll be safe, just take it easy. It's not required but... I find it's good to have a source of sugar about, like a bit of chocolate and some coca cola or something as it can leave you a bit dull and dried out, just generally what smoking does and a little boost helps.
Also if you don't feel like smoking any more then don't, it's your choice and regardless of what anybody else is saying, just don't.
Be wary of it turning into a habit, personally I went from trying it.. to weekends.. to every other day.. to daily basis and although I'm all for the stuff, I don't recommend falling into this lifestyle, as it tainted my attitude during an important time in my education. I've managed to regain a good routine now however. Also I take regular breaks so I don't build up too much tolerance. Tolerance costs money. Show it respect and show those that don't smoke respect. Don't advertise it and don't brag about it and if it's illegal where you are, keep it on the down low, don't take pictures and talk about it etc..

So whatever you decide to do, try it, continue, what ever the outcome is, then that's a few tips for you. Enjoy.

 

Honestly it's not worth it. like stated before it fucks with your memory. Yeah it's fun, yeah its "cool" but not worth it. The high is temporary and gives you a false sense of happiness. Finde something that really makes you happy. There are better ways to have fun.

 

I suggest you wait until you're older. You'll end up dealing with lots of people who you wouldn't want to be around if you start smoking.

 

In my opinion you're too young to be trying those kind of things. From what I can see, you're just trying to fit in the group (as you mention they've smoked before)

First of all, you shouldn't even be trying it. But in the exception that you decide to see what it's like, you're still too young and in the case that you get caught smoking that, wether you are alone or with your friends, you will get yourself in serious troubles.

Dont get fooled, smoking weed doesn't make you 'cool', and there is absolutely no need to be trying those type of stuff.

 

Don't get too deep in it. Smoking at a party or concert or whatever is alright, but if you literally just sit in your house and blaze up all day, you will lose track of time and just do not shit.

Also, no one has mentioned the legal issues yet. In the US where I live, I had a buddy with 1/4 of a gram in his car and he lost his license, went on his record, and paid over $2000 in court fines and lawyers for it.
