Homosexuality - To choose or not to choose?

Wouldn't it be easier to further their rights solely on the grounds that they're human beings?

Yeah, I know... politics and religion are involved. Still, I feel that debating over it is a distraction. There are more important matters that need addressing

lmao @ the relating to animals being homo. I don't think you choose. Either you're attracted to the same sex or you're not. I'm perfectly normal

I believe that everyone is born a certain way however society taboos may blind someone in their youth. Only when most people mature and realize how silly discrimination is do they come out. People may not even realize that they are gay until their 20s.

Being gay is a taboo in most societies (maybe not "most" anymore) just like incest is. If there is a brand new community that is ignorant to present time "gay" and "incest" taboos, there would 100% be vastly more homosexuals and incest occurring in this new community in relation to present time communities.

    Sure it's a choice.

Does it make you a minority? Hell no, it's their life, their decision, if they aren't harming me or forcing their way of life onto mine then let them be gay, straight or whatever they wish.

Religion is a tricky one because it's a very touchy subject. Most religions do not agree with homosexuality, although does this mean they have to burn in hell? Because I know a gay guy that wouldn't hurt a fly and actually acts like a normal human being. However I am Christian and I do believe it is the wrong decision but they shouldn't be treated differently for this, it's for god to decide.

I am on the fence with this one.

However I don't believe it is a choice with part of my reasoning being what other behaivour animals display. There are countless other animals that display homosexual behaivour, such as out close relative the chimpanzee.

If it was a choice, I don't believe that so many animals would display the same behaivour.
