I'm in my 4th year. The first 2 years are definitely harder than the last two since they are much more broader and cover a wide range of topics for each subject. The last 2 years are specific, and much more in-depth. To me 3rd and 4th years have been a lot easier than the first two.

As for english and history majors, what exactly do you want to do when you graduate? English and History undergraduates usually cannot find jobs and tend to have to go to graduate school. If you want to become a professor than sure you can.. but if not, i say look into something else that interests you

Well college route will generally be easier than the university route so I reckon it won't be utterly taxing mentally but staying focused on academics is the most important advice. To answer your second question what are your plans with an English and History majors, unfortunately I can only think of careers in educating others in these subjects for example professor or high school teacher.

I have no idea about college, my parents/siblings all went from year 12 (high school) to University, it's better to actually live on campus because of the transport issues and you'll be pared with someone who is new there also so you can help each other out. You should also expect their to be a lot of parties/drinking which in the end is up to you whether school or partying is more important.

As Entrr said those are the only things that come to mind when I think of English and History majors, if you're planning on being a teacher then go for it. You should always branch out and look for more depending on the path you want to go down for your career.

2 years doing general classes at community college is easy imho. English majors have a hard time finding jobs, from what I've read. Try out some sort of engineering if you want something challenging.

Not everything in life is fun at the beginning, business seems better to go for than history/english.

Well, if you wanted to become a teacher it's perfect.
Do what classes are recommended for the career path you want to choose, don't let "fun" be a gesture of how you choose because for the first 5 years or college/uni nothing is "fun" it's hard work. The harder you work the brighter your future will be which in equal is $$$$

English and History Majors? Not if you want a job.

The first 2 years will depend mostly on your extra-curricular activities if you don't have a job, because schoolwork isn't necessarily that time consuming
