Do you feel safe?

I don't really like being in the dark, alone, at night. I suppose most of you don't. But where I live, I know I'm as safe as I can be and that even though my mind scares me, there's nothing to be afraid of. (Talking about violence ofcourse, not accidents)

But I have friends who live 8 miles from me, and I know for sure that walking around alone at night there is not without risk.

How do you feel, where you live?

For me it's more of a mental thing than reality, I mean, it's never 100% safe to walk around at night alone anywhere. However where I live is pretty safe and I highly doubt anything would happen. As I said its more of a mental thing, when I'm in a situation like that where I don't feel completely safe my brain begins to think about the worst possible scenarios, which then worsens how I feel.

 

You're never 100% safe anywhere, at any time. But try to rationalize.

 

Honestly can say that I haven't locked my doors in over two years. I feel really safe where I live. That said I do not always enjoy walking out in some of the shady streets around town.

 

I live in the Bronx, NY and my area has a pretty high crime rate. I'm just a few blocks away from the neighborhood that is home to the most NY inmates. Despite that, I feel pretty safe walking around. By being careful and paying attention, you greatly decrease the chance of anything bad happening to you. Having someone else with you in a particularly dangerous area can also help a lot at night. Overall, I feel pretty safe and when I avoid taking anything with me I'd feel unsafe carrying around.

being that i own 3 guns, a bow, couple knives, live in the rural area of GA, and have broken a few noses in my time, yea.. i feel pretty safe if some gangbanger rolls up to my house, he'll get a few slugs and a 308 to the skull.

 

I feel completely safe. With or without the .50cal Desert Eagle I recently got...that beautiful, beautiful piece of work, as it is, is really only for when I go to the hood of Atlanta, known as The Bluff, haha.

In my town, I don't really walk too far, especially at night, and when I do, either someone is kind enough to give me a ride, or I'm kinda always in a place I'm too familiar with to be scared or unsafe, ya know what I mean?

 

yeah i mean in 80% of areas in my town id walk around late at night with no problems. course there's always areas where there's some shady figures but still i aint really bother me much, bruh

 

My area is super safe, even though you're right it's the whole "mind" thing that really scares me sometimes especially my dad working super late some nights and I have to fall asleep to a movie or something because my mind just doesn't want me to feel safe.

Bottom line, don't act nervous or let your guard down. Go where you need to go with your shoulders back and your head high, don't look around too much, and walk at a casual pace. Always be on guard and ready to act. People will be less likely to fuck with you if you don't look like you have a reason to be scared.

I live in Chicago but travel a bit. I'm also a night owl. I've been everywhere at night. Really, even in the worst places I've been, I find that it's what you make of it.

 

I live in a safe area, but we still lock our doors and don't take walks at night. Just a precautionary measure.

 

95% safe. most of ppl in my living area are friendly. I haven't locked my door on the inside at night for more than 2 years.

 

I live in a ok neighborhood but im safe with everyone so i got nothing to worry about

 

80% safe I live in a secluded area in the middle of nowhere next to the woods. The only crime that seems to occur in my neighbourhood are thefts/break-ins. In fact, just recently two suspicious individuals were scouting around my house tampering with some wires that I am not aware of. Two days later I found out that they robbed two houses (one of which being my neighbours), while they were on vacation during March break. In addition, three individuals from the area also stole my uncle's car last year on my driveway at 2:00AM. Luckily, we had a tracker on the car and the police had no problem locating the stolen vehicle. Despite everything that happened in a 1-year period I still think my neighbourhood is really safe. I always lock the doors as it was always my rule of thumb.

Too many stabbings and shootings around where I live.. don't like walking alone at night at all

 

I dont feel safe anywhere this world has come down to something really bad so i wouldn't feel safe anywhere to be exact
