what programs/places would youi guys recomend to learn how to do this kind of stuff? i'm not really interested in the sig area or even orginal content of GFX, but i want to play around with making new backgrounds etc and thought this vid was a good example of what i'd like to learn.

my current experience is brush strokes, and color burn trololol.

    so yea.

alright thanks, i've always been that person that can see something awesome to the smallest detail but never been able to make it, in the art department.

As Zippy stated it's definitely around the general area of photo manipulation. If you want to do stuff like what was done in the video then I would focus mainly on getting myself familiar with how to use it and gain experience through experimenting here and there. Later on to add on some extra effects and color correction and what not I would pick up Photoshop. Once you've got everything down and are comfortable with using them then I would go more in depth with both programs as they both provide a great medium through which you can get your preferred task completed. As usual, use youtube & google to your advantage. Hope I helped!
