PayPal account shutdown

Hey guys!

Earlier today I was selling some items for $200, which made my PayPal value to a $1.1K. Now I was just to login to PayPal and check it out, and guess what, if it hasn't been shutdown. I have had that PayPal for about 4 months now, and have under those months made $1.1k, which for me is very much money.

When I login I see it has been shutdown. The reason it got shutdown is because: " You may only have one personal account and a business account. " + one of another few reasons, shown in the Swedish picture below.

Also, it says that " This limitation can not be appealed. "

I'm gonna call PayPal on Monday, and also thinking of contacting a lawyer or something. But what I am asking you for is help, what should I tell them when I call them?

Ask them the reasoning behind the limitation, and if it cannot be upheld, remove your money from the account.

 

Tried linking my bank account, and removing the money from it. But it say's it's ain't possible if it is locked.

The reason it was limitated is because I got more than one personal account.

 

If you got more then one personal account, and if one of those paypal account got limited, paypal would shut down your others , they call this "linked account"

for example. most people use 1 paypal account normally, but paypal got terrible rules, for buyers charge back, result yor account balance be negative, so most people would not paying money to get account be positive. so people would think about make another paypal account, with same name, adderss, ip address, paypal detectives same information, they will take this account as linked with the original paypal . so they lock it..

this is how paypal sucks...

And that's why most sites ask you do western Union payment for first time or large amount orders...

 

Yea I know PayPal is a really terrible bank. Anyways, called them today and they said that I will have my money on my bank account in 45 days!

 

Even if you manage to get the account back, they may ask for proof of sales such as receipts and such and I assuming it were RS Gold... In my experience anyways... Good luck. ^_^

I know you said you tried adding your bank account, did you successfully add it?
If not ... If you trust the users that you sold stuff too... Get them to chargeback and then create a new account or get another method of payment aha

You can contact a lawyer, but there isn't much you can do.
What Paypal will argue is that when you proceeded to creating your 'second account' you agreed to the terms and conditions, and I bet there's a clause i the ToA which states that you cannot have more than one account.

 

Are both the personal accounts on the same phone number? Also having an unverified account limits your total threshold to $1000, and PayPal will ask for ID verification and a utility bill/bank statement to prove you are who you say you are.

Give them a call. I'm assuming you may have to wait 6 months following procedure, and once those 6 months are up - you will be able to withdraw the funds; however account will be then permanently locked.

 

It states in the rules when you agree to them, you said yourself you have more than one personal account so there probably isn't any way you can appeal it successfully. I'm sure it's a lesson in the future, it's your own fault.

 

This actually happened to me about a year ago while I had $374 in my paypal account. We called them up and made an agreement where I had to wait 6 months to take out the money through bank

 

Yea it's due to credit card chargebacks and also to enjoy the interest on the money lol

 

That's why i am scared to make trades via paypal. Next time make one account, stick with that account and use player auctions!
