Are we evolving, or am I lost in my mind? [for Vet. SFA'ers]]

Gonna go ahead and say this, alright, this is an extremely long post, but hell, intelligent discussions shouldn't be too short, right?, and I am hoping there's at least a single person in this section that is willing to read the entire excerpt, and respond. The contents involve barely any facts, and instead pry on something more important than factual information, more important than wanting to learn things that we have the ability in this time period to learn, and this entire status is my take on why I believe I, and the homo sapien species in general, are either: A) undergoing an evolutionary era that is relatively new, and I am one of the people who realize it as a possibility, due to the fact it is not an evolution of the likes we have been focusing on in our research, so it's happening right under our noses, or, B) I am simply a crazy man, filling my mind with nothing but an excuse to feel worth while.

So decide now, do you want to take a short, 30 minute or less break from your day to read something that may change your entire outlook on life? This is something I'm very serious about, and wish others would at least take some time to think about.
This is, truthfully, just a small portion of what I plan on writing, and I hope to finish the book by the time I'm 21.

Please note, I am not claiming I believe for a fact any of the things within the excerpt ahead, and unless stated as proven fact, it is all theoretical, and I am not trained in any scientific field beyond the confines of my own curiosity.

An excerpt from my work-in-progress, "From My Mind to Yours"
    :

Honestly, I tend to over-analyze things that most people wouldn't. An example here is, if someone were to say via a text, or message, or somehow in which I am not in their physical presence, "I'm alone", in any context involving being physically alone, like, by themselves, I would SAY something like, "Damn, that sucks", or, "Nice that's cool", depending on if they wanted to be alone, or wanted to have company, ya dig?

However....I'd be THINKING something like, "Well, maybe...maybe we're all alone, not just us, but the entirety of living things on this planet, but then again, maybe not - the universe is too big to really know.."

My mind works in such a weird way, but I mean, isn't that what neurologists and many other scientists have declared as a sign of high[er] intelligence - being able to question the bigger picture, and whatnot? So, is it really weird, or is it evidence to evolution taking place? Think about it. Accessing and putting to use a larger portion of the brain (in this case, accessing more of the frontal and parietal lobes*, giving me, and others who think the way I do the ability, and automatic instinct, to question things on a scale much greater than the average person) than others of the same species is actually the same process as what occurred in the transition from the Homo Habilis era to the Homo sapien era, which basically involved hominids beginning to access a little more of their brain in the same manner, only for survival purposes along with very, very slight intellectual questioning, according to theory. In this case, I believe the homo sapien species' brain has either peaked in it's ability to survive anywhere/learn (eventually, not by a textbook, but by tests and research of medicine and whatnot) how to survive anywhere, so now, we're in the beginning stages of a new era of mankind, the intellectual growth era, ya dig? Since now that we know of the general components that not only ALREADY EXIST on Earth, but have the ability to CREATE brand new components, you see what I'm sayin', the only things left to evolve in are, back to the beginnings of the post-Homininae evolutionary period, since we've adapted to our overall surroundings (the Earth), and that is, the expansion of intelligence-providing portions of the brain, and by expansion, I don't mean physical growth, but instead, the desire to access more of it, and the desire to know more about our beginnings, and all that good, scienc-y, fun stuff. So, basically, what I'm getting at, is if you are one of the minorities of the world who actually have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge about where you came from, why you're here, why you have to leave(or die, rather), or you analyze things to a point where instead of answering a question with, "Yes", or, "No", or, "Maybe", you instead answer with, "Yes, BUT what if...", or, "No, unless/but if...", or, "Maybe, because if/if [x] happens/happened, then...", then you are right alongside me in my thinking that we are evolving right now, and the majority of the world either doesn't think it through that much, or they simply don't believe it. Basically, I am being what most people would call an egotistical asshole, because they would assume I'm saying, "I am better than that group of people because my mind works differently and on a more quizzical, intelligence-thirsty level!", which in a sense, I am, I'll be honest, I do feel that way, BUT, I feel that way only in a scientific manner, and what most people don't understand is science is a no-bullshit game, and it's not my fault, nor is it anyone's fault. (Well, I could also say it's everybody's fault, because we evolve as a general unit, and leave the weak behind, as history and scientific discovery has shown us...but...that's just an argument waiting to happen, lol.) So, in closure to this segment of the rambling, what most people think of as a weird thought process, I think of as a sign of heightened intelligence, because while I know I only have a short time to figure everything out, and have the desire to do so, yet have the common sense to understand that the chances of me being able to are basically nonexistent (not completely nonexistent, but so phenomenally close to it, it's not worth a ratio or decimal estimation, lol), most people seem to not really care all too much, which personally, I think is foolish. It's like a waste of time, really, because yeah, you might spend your life working, married, have a child or children, house, etc. and be 'successful' in your own definition of the word. While there's nothing wrong with that, let me just go ahead and tell you that, whether you like it or not, your time here will not be remembered. Don't believe me? Go ask your oldest living direct-blood-relative about your great(x10)-grandfather. No information will be known. Even possibly to the (x9)th, nothing will be known. The only way that it'd be possible is if for some reason your family line documents their lives (cool concept, but most likely not a realistic occurrence, and even if so, written documents all eventually are lost, because everything we've ever written on DOES deteriorate with time, not to mention disasters, such as fire, floods, hurricanes, etc jeopardizing our weak stationary, and we rebuild based on word of mouth. Which as we all know, can't always be trusted, especially if it's the first time of something being told - for whatever reason, people like to fantasize and exaggerate, which I never understood lol). I'm sorry to be so cruel sounding, but hey, man, that's reality. Now again, I'm not saying you shouldn't live to satisfy your personal goals of happiness, but why should you let that prevent you from occasionally stopping and asking a question that goes deeper than the obvious, explainable by the already-known circumstances? You probably won't find all the answers, or hell, you might not even find a single answer whatsoever that you're searching for. But in my eyes, that's part of the fun, and the beauty of it all, because without getting an answer, we strive to ask more questions, and go deeper with it every time, you see what I'm getting at?

Oh yeah, and aside from the intellectual evolution I believe we may be undergoing, the only thing left is a physical evolution, which that's already apparent and running concurrent with it. And we don't have to worry about another pause in the intellectual evolutionary era for awhile, either, because until something else evolves beyond our current knowledge of survival, and we have to focus on how to keep the future of mankind a possibility, which technically could be today, tomorrow, whenever, but we've become extremely fast learners, and we adapt to new threats easily, so it'd take something that has not only evolved beyond us in our survivability instinct, but our intelligence as well, so, I don't see that encounter happening for megaannum to come. ;)

Anyway, point is, I over think things because I feel that it is the way we need to process things, and in order to go forward in evolution, we have to question our distant past, and I don't mean distant as in one million years, or a billion, I mean closer to the 14 billion year mark, yeah, back to the suspected beginnings of it all (fuck it, question our past beyond then, even, lol, we don't know for SURE we as a universe, are only 13.73Billion years old, shit, carbon dating isn't even an accurate measure, it's just the MOST accurate that we've found thus far, you feel me? YEAH, I GET WAY OUT THERE ON QUESTIONING SHIT, OKAY? I'M DOING IT RIGHT, lol.), get into the stuff we literally cannot, in any way, scientifically or by any other means prove *yet*, and just ask ourselves questions, and give ourselves a response - not an answer - but diagnose possibilities, not assumed definitive occurrences.

Without the thirst for knowing the unknowable, just how long will it be until evolution goes on without you, and while those who do have that thirst carry on in the way of the world, you are left to be considered a lesser species? Why would you want that of yourself? Yeah, it may not be YOU personally, but do you not care what the dominant species (if an intellectual species survives long enough) 20 million years from now sees you were? Do we not currently refer to the Neanderthals as barbaric, idiotic ones? Personally, I'd rather our great descendents to look at their history and take note that the homo sapiens were damn smart for the period in which they lived. But that's me, you guys can do whatever, but having the attitude, "Well I'm not gonna be alive so it doesn't concern me", or, "I wasn't around then, and I am now, so what should I care?", are both extremely stubborn attitudes, when you look at it as a living creature, not as an 18 year old guy, or whatever. You'd think that more people would care more about their past and future than they do, but eh.

Oh, and by the way, I've accepted the possibility I may be wrong. I might have it all completely backwards. Maybe those who disregard the past, leaving it there, and those who don't look more than 10 years, much less 10 million years, into their future and think of the possibilities of what happened back then, and may happen ahead of us, have it right. Maybe living care free is the proper way to live, and perhaps I'm the one who is falling behind in evolution. But see, I don't mind that possibility existing, because I'd rather die trying to find out if any of my evaluated possibilities of my creation, and my deepest roots within the universe stand a chance at one day being proven, or even so much as accepted as a theory, fuck it, even if just one of the possibilities I came about in my time were to be worth being RESEARCHED, I'd be happy, but most likely by the time the possibilities I consider within my own mind resurface to a crowd with the technology and desire to research them, I will have been long gone, and I will not be accredited as the one who initially presented the idea, I'm almost certain of it, and I don't mind. I don't want credit. I simply want further understanding for myself, and I strongly want total understanding for my descendents.

But hey, maybe I'm just a loony motherfucker who wants desperately to be assured that I, as a mistake of the cosmos that evolved into what I am, (just as the rest of existence is around the universe, btw, don't be sad, it's all one big mistake, as far as we know ;p), have a chance at understanding the great void, polka-dotted with balls of gas, rock, and other random shit, how it came to be, and how a single particle, eventually became an unmeasurable number of particles, and how a portion of those formed life. I might just be another crazy person chasing disappointment.

But then again, maybe I'm not.

If you're one of the true SFA trooper and legitimately read the entirety of this post, I would just like to thank you for taking the time out of your day to do so, and I'd like to ask a favor of you before you press 'Back', or closing your browser, or leaving this webpage by any other means, if you don't mind.

If you plan on writing a response, firstly, I ask it not be a debate, because as stated before the excerpt began, this is not me defending anything I believe to be factual, so there is no reason for you to retort attempting to debunk anything I've written, and the other thing I ask of you, is to include in the response a short answer to a few questions:
-How, if at all, did this excerpt impact your view on things?
-Do you agree with any of the theories I have produced through the deep thoughts combined with historical evidence/scientific evidence?
-In your opinion, is it possible that I (and any other person who follows a similar thought process, and whatnot) may be onto something, or are we simply too analytical?

I'm not asking for long answers, just enough to gather a little survey from some intelligent people. Of course, you don't have to answer anything I asked, haha, but please do respond anyway, I'd like to know your thoughts on the material anyway. :)

Again, thank you if you read it completely.

We have hardly emancipated ourselves from intellectual ignorance. I would go as far as to say that most people have not...

In terms of actual biological evolution humans are fucking themselves. Our brains are getting smaller and those with undesirable disease and traits are allowed to reproduce/ living longer. We think that is immoral to genetically select certain traits among human beings.

What do I have to say to that? Fuck you religious zealots!

    P.S
Don't bring up trivial shit with eugenics. We don't already live under a nazi regime who's going to exterminate all those who are inferior... Whenever you're arguing with anyone about eugnics they undoubtedly refer to stupid shit that isn't even eugenics.

    Edit:

To op, I think you're over thinking this. We are monkeys who now have a small grasp of what our place in the cosmos is. Our minds have reached the abstract in which seemingly anything is possible. ( think of a new color huehuehue)

I failed to find anything of merit throughout your excerpt. You have used no evidence or solid reasoning to substantiate your claims.

Your premise of "I question my existence, therefore I am evolving" is a very weak argument.

The entire basis of the thought, and the post itself, is not an argument, and before the process even began, I made sure to note nothing within was to be considered factual.

Why does an intelligent post have to be factual?

The thing is, it's not arguable at all - it's just to spark an unnatural thought process. Is it possible the thoughts I laid out in this post DO support evidence of evolution? Yes. Do they support evidence of evolution based on the accepted theory? No. It's an almost completely different concept - an evolution based only on the expansion of our minds.

Is that not what you'd consider an evolution? Furthering our understanding? Or do you view "evolution" ONLY as what was theorized by one man's word?

It sounds like you think evolution is a start-stop process (it isn't, in case you're wondering). Everything undergoes change at every moment of every day. Yes, the world is a vastly different place today than what it was just 15 years ago, and I think the distinction you're trying to make for yourself is that you are aware of that fact (unfortunately, a lot of people are not, so good for you). Technology has done wonders for us in the past century, and humans today are the culmination of the pros and cons that come with it's advancement. There are numerous theories out there on the effects technology is having on our brains and our minds. The way we think and interact with the world outside today is very much affected by our pervasive reliance on electronics, be it for leisure, school, or work.
I don't know how common it is for people to want to grapple with the kinds of questions you are thinking about, but you can rest assured that the manner in which you are going about it is something that is currently being theorized studied in the social sciences.
