Random banning?

Any one else experience this?

My friend irl was hunting with me and got banned for "botting" when I know he doesn't bot and hunts with me all the time. We've been hunting the same amount of time and days except he gets randomly banned for macroing.

What's going on? Anybody have any success on getting unbanned?

 

Many of people have been banned when they've never bottedand only played legitimately its something that is occurring quite often. I believe jagex are aware of said situation and are currently working on a better more effective method for banning bots etc.
Was it a perm or 20 day ban?

 

Currently they just ban people who *look* like they are botting.

 

Yeah, happened to my wife 8 days ago. The shittiest thing is that they only respond to random appeals, not even in order....She isn't unbanned yet, but some other people I've talked to that got banned at the same time are.

Pretty ridiculous system since she was doing Slayer when she got banned.

 

If you look like a bot your are at risk of being banned.

 

This is retard logic.

Even if it wasn't, it's still obvious there's a flaw in their system because people are wrongly banned doing things with nobody around - my wife was in the process of walking to Hill Giants for a Slayer task and poof, banned.

 

That retard logic is Jagex logic. There are plenty of videos out there of people training normally who get disconnected and banned as they play. The 'bot busting' that Jagex is doing isn't exactly surgery

 

Perm ban for nothing basically. He was hunting with me all the time and talking and doing motions that a bot doesn't do.. weird.

 

We're you guys talking or just hunting without saying anything for hours?

 

Na we were talking the whole time, just having a conversation so we wouldn't get bored.

 

They stopped bot busting for this reason I believe.

 

Haven't heard much on the subject but it would be nice if they finally put an end to this madness. It's one thing if they had an automated system that could authentically distinguish a player from a bot but if they are incapable of this they ought to just have a hands off approach. Banning random people are nonsense criteria only frustrates the player base and has made me a bit paranoid.

 

Just got banned about 15 minutes ago for botting with 2 windows open.. Hopefully they will get my appeal, if not i'm going to complain on the forums. Hopefully they'll find a better way to deal with this later on...

 

Were you actually botting?

 

There is a sticky on the RSOS about them having implemented some level of botwatch in 07, prior to that, all the bans were manual

 

Pretty much if you talk a lot and make mistakes with clicking then you are highly unlikely to get banned. It's a strange area at the moment as Jagex' system is messed up.

 

That's exactly what was happening with both of us, we were both talking and we occasionally missed some clicks like every non-botter does.

 

Latley shit has been going wack with the bot busting, I've head of plenty of people getting banned and not even botting.
