Pretty sure they've already been carried out. Otherwise what the hell is the hold up. I remember Pockets was one but he said he resigned by his decision on here. At least Pockets will step down if he can see he's not going to be active enough.

Nice work for pointing this out, although I disagree on some parts, as I could name a few moderators who are fairly active. I know at some points - mods won't be as active, as they have things going on in real life; as we all have. But I could certainly name a few who aren't active.. I believe a mod should be heavily involved in the community, as well as reports, scams etc. Because behind the scenes - we as a community don't know what kind of work they're doing? This is my input anyway, but nice work verts I commend you on chasing things up with the current staff.

I honestly never thought activity would slow down in Sythe compared to other sites.

I have a big idea that I'm trying to talk to Richard about, but it's a huge step. And very active and idealistic staff will be a necessity for the process, if implemented. And thank you for the compliments and feedback, I love getting a good discussion going that is constructive towards progression!

Nice to see another member contributing as much as possible to the website! Kudos man. I'm always down for a discussion in regards to things like this, full of ideas for improvement, hit me up maybe we can collaborate some ideas together.

To be honest, i'm surprised Dalpra was let back on staff since he has from what I remember a history of hopping on and off, like venom, correct me if i'm wrong.

I admit the quality of threads and such nowadays aren't enough to keep me occupied here, so I post elsewhere on other websites. As sad as it is, i'm losing faith.

On the topic of moderator activity, I have a certain dislike towards certain individuals due to their reactions to various events, comments, feedback and the like but then again, that isn't important.

I'm glad you're planning on doing something about it, Verts, and I wish you well!

    G'nite all.

I have seen a loss of drive as of late. Active members leaving, staff less active, etc.

Nothing extremely noticeable but its there.

My feelings exactly. If I was playing RS still I would probably still be very active but besides from RS threads there isn't much to read or say that entertains me.

I know this started as a site dedicated to RS and I saw a drive to get new members from other games onto the site, but what about the members who don't play games anymore and are just here to talk about topics relating to life.

OT: I agree with OP, that account recovery situation was pathetic.

I hate losing a reply because I clicked the stupid ass banner instead of post quick reply.

What I had typed was a few paragraphs that basically state we should move away from RuneScape and gear towards community gaming in general. Even if the game doesn't die, there is no progression on a site aimed towards one game. We should branch evenly into all games, and I've been discussing with other members effective ways to accomplish such a task.

I will compose a thread in a general discussion section shortly, I have to pull desk duty soon.

I've been trying my best to expand the LoL market and have had success. (There was no market or discussion section before.)

If you have ideas for big games or ways to actually expand please share.

People play games, join communities then eventually quit the game which usually means they'll stop posting. On top of our games sections, our off-topic section would need to be really strong so it keeps users entertained and still using the site when they quit the game (e.g. most of the members who don't play RS)

When people quit one game, they'll usually move into another. And what I'm wanting to do, is always have a "Sythe" group in that game. We need to be widespread.

I can agree to a certain extent. Although, if you look at what is done rather than what hasn't been done, these sorts of cases rarely come about and it's just unfortunate in xbit's case that it disappeared at the bottom.

But I'm not making excuses, and I know that if I were to fall inactive for a long period of time, I would resign and let someone else have a chance at staff rather than do "behind the scenes" jobs as they're commonly referred to as. A prime example is Shoop's recent couple of months resignation, but he returned and is doing a great job as before. I see no reason to remain on staff if your intentions are to just meet mod quota and not contribute, whether it's through choice or other things which are being prioritised which is fair enough and understandable.

Personally, I (though never staff here on Sythe) have experienced during my time as staff in online communities that it relates to my Army lifestyle. It's not too difficult to do what's needed. On Sythe, that mod logs an activity. It takes a test of character to go beyond, to interact with the community, to he involved in events and go above what is expected as a sectional or global moderator. We new to find more of those people willing to take the initiative to push forward and help the website be truly successful.

Rwm and syphers, I know you both have ideas and have been moving for improvement, why not go over to the thread in community improvement that I created and discuss the ideas? It's pretty hard to jump between three that every one is using right now. It would be great if we could all compound these ideas and get something accomplished soon!

I don't know, but I miss it. I always use the report button, I'm sure Gohan knows that pretty well. If I'm active, I'm doing a large part it helping to police up the community based on the rules. The second the rules start going out the window is the same moment in which the decline, while currently slight and minor, will exponentially rise to the point where there may be no stopping it.
