Email from Jagex?

I just checked my E-mail and seen that I had one saying my account has been banned for RWT and I should log in to check the evidence and yadayada...Its from [email protected]...
Is this a legit email or just a phish?

 

It is most likely a phisher, to check if it's legit login to your account via the official runescape page and check your ban meter.

 

If you didn't know there is something called Fake Emailer or such which many phishers seem to use. This thing you can really write in any Email Adress and it will send it to whoever you want to send it to as that persons email so you can't tell difference from the email

 

Go onto www.runescape.com and log onto the site yourself, then go to your account settings and check your account's status.

 

Exactly what the above said. For about a month straight I was getting that exact same email three or four times a day. I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Basically if you were to click the link it sends you to an alternate site that looks like Runescape (AKA phishing.)

I would just check your account on Runescape's homepage and make sure everything's in order and otherwise ignore the email/block.

 

How to tell if this is legit or fake:

1.) open the email
2.) hover over the supposedly legit link from Jagex
3.) right click it and click "copy link"
4.) paste it into your url bar but DO NOT hit enter
5.) analyse link, if its a phish, it most likely be .t k or otherwise have other obvious faults in the link

if link is indeed a phish, proceed to navigate to it, and login to it with fake random thought of imaginary accounts 10 times to waste the phishers time as he will attempt to login to all of them xD

 

its a scammer trying to get your info and steal your stuff dont click any links on it.

If an email doesn't display your runescape name, it's fake.

 

Bad idea. Don't attempt to log in at all, as when you try to log in their logs include an IP address. Easy invitation to DDOS.
