Which would you trust more?

A newcomer who has a 5000$ donator rank or a sythe member from 2005 with 10 vouches?

The donor. Obviously they wouldnt scam for a smaller amount than they donated...The 2005 member with 10 vouches just proved that he is inactive and cant be trusted very much.

 

I wouldn't base my decision concerning who to trust on either donor rank or time spent on sythe. Unless I know you personally, I simply don't trust you.

I've known high donors to scam, I've known 2005 ex-administrators to scam. I've know a few moderators who've scammed, and I've even known a few highly trusted users besides those on staff who've scammed. I've had one or two internet friends scam someone before.

When it all boils down to it, we're all anonymous faces behind computer screens, desensitized to what the others may feel in reaction to your antics on sythe.org. None of us really know each other. Anything can happen.

 

This, although if I were forced to choose, the donor. Doubt someone paying all the money would scam. Although, if it were a newcomer donating that much, I'd guess they hacked sythe and did that.

 

Sorta what KLDG said if a guy donated $5000 why would he really scam cause i doubt anyone is going to trade him over $5000 so i would prob go with him. The guy from 2005 could just come back to scam.

 

If some random newcomer joined and donated 5 grand i would be suspicious. He probably hacked someone paypal or something.

 

All the mentioned above, I would not trust any even if they are 10k donors or oldfag members.

Would depend on how big the trade is. If we are talking like a 20 dollar trade I'd probably trust the 5k donor. I'd also trust the 05 guy too though since despite possibly being inactive, why get an account that old banned over a silly 20 dollars.

If it was a large trade like a partyhat or something I'd simply get a middleman.

 

The donor, if he was seriously willing to drop 5000 to become reputable and conduct business on Sythe, any sensible person would not ruin this investment by scamming on any trade minor when compared to 5000. If he were to scam, although someone donating that much would be very unlikely to, he would scam for an enormous amount an amount that would surpass his donation and make retiring from the site forever worth it.. that being said, any trade I'd conduct on Sythe would be significantly smaller than 5000 and in retrospect nothing I do here will likely even come close to that amount so I would trust him with a transaction.

The person from 2005 on the other hand, while it says something that they've been around for a long time their low vouches sort of take the merit away from the join date. If someone has been on Sythe for years and has a great reputation, they enjoy the site and have a passion for its users and their e-business.. now when someone's account has existed since 2005 and they've only conducted 10 successful trades, they likely aren't very passionate about the site because they aren't here conducting legitimate trades very often and thus probably don't value their account as much as someone with a very high activity level. That being said, it's incredibly possible that they are coming out of Sythe retirement for the sole purpose of scamming for a reasonable amount and then disappearing again into the shadows.

 

Trust has nothing to do with donor rank or join date

 

I wouldn't trust either very much, but if I had to choose I would choose the 5000$ donor.

I would probably trust neither of them without having more information. It depends on other stuff as well.

 

I would have to get to know the members before I can make a decision on who to trust. There are far too many con artists out there.

I personally don't really trade on Sythe, I tend just to potter around Off topic or Game sections, but honestly I'd trust the $5000 Donor, $5000 is a lot of money to donate to a site to scam $20-50. I'm going of logic, and lack of Trade expiereince myself.
